No player or coach should have to tolerate over the top abuse from the stands and that's something that stadium security should be addressing. That said, an NFL head coach should be above responding to this kind of nonsense. If Ryan can't stand the heat then he's in the wrong job.
With respect to the fine, I think Goodell is going a bit far with regard to the whole 'fine' thing.

I think the tunnelways should have a "spit shield" over then like they do at soccer games. The teams should be able to leave with out harassment. At least keep them free from falling "debris". -
