Your coach was all teary eyed at the podium saying you had no chance at the playoffs, and then Indy laid down. We all saw it. Why pretend it didn't happen?

Backed in is the sheep earlier mentioned. You wear high boots and stuff the sheep's legs in them. Then you pound away Crusty. That's where the term "putting the boots" comes from. It's an Irish thing. Are you Irish? You can't be an African-American.

the jests are a team with a descent defense(not great but descent) but an average quarterback prone to mistakes and an offense that features trick plays...(wildcat) they will face some good teams coming up starting this week... so the last 5 weeks lucky streak should come to an end...

Just so everybody understands what they are ignorantly talking about:

The New England Patriots and New York Jets share 14 common games out of 16.

NYJ- have Denver and Houston (combined so far 7-13)
NE- Have San Diego and Indy (combined so far 11-9)

Ironically, both games for each team had one "Get out of Dodge" victory and one "We almost blew this lead" victory.   In the end, its a wash.

Do you really think one teams schedule is that much dramatically different??!!

Come on people.  Schedule talk is loser talk.  The Jets have earned their 9-2 even if they were recipients of luck the last few weeks.  New England has not had an easy victory all year long either.  This will be a great battle for AFC supremacy.  Advantage Patriots for being home.

    foolish talk Leon/Rexy.

Yes, the Jets ultimately had a better season than the Pats last year, but both fell short of their ultimate goal. And, yes, you backed into the playoffs last year, and being in denial about that actually weakens your argument. In the end, your team proved it belonged in the playoffs last year.

But as for this season, nothing is proven yet, but I can understand why a Jets fans is convinced that meaningful football is played in Sept/Oct/Nov. In fact the true meaning of the NFL comes into focus now and into January. If the Jets keep winning you may learn that also.

"This current pats team is no better (actually overall worse) than last years team."

Which shows you are looking at this from homer glasses. This Pats team is significantly better than last year's team. Of course, if the Pats don't win the division this year, they may not advance far in the playoffs, but I'm willing to bet when it's all said and done you will grudgingly admit the Pats have improved. If you can't see it, you will soon enough...

Who won the division last year? Same record this year against weaker opponents by the Jets. I KNOW you are worried about this game.  You have to be.  The Jets barely won the last 4 games against horrible teams.  And you KNOW the Patriots are 10 times better now than when they played the Jets at the beginning of the year.

In Response to Re: Rex the mouth Ryan already talking smack : Not sure you know what 'backed in' means.  Winning 5 of 6 of your regular season games does not really fit.  However, losing 3 of 6 and getting crushed in the first round may qualify.  But hey, if crying about another teams wins from a year ago helps the pain of that playoff beating, that's cool.  Let it out, let it out.  It's going to be OK (in 2014).

Ironic that you are the one living in the past about last year, then make stupid comments about it. Backing in means the Jests got in because the 2 teams ahead of them chose to rest starters and lose.  If not, Jets go home. Did the Jets win the SB last year?  Did they play in it?  No, they lost.  Yet you brag.  Pathetic.

In Response to Re: Rex the mouth Ryan already talking smack : We call this revisionist history.  I keep telling you, just because you want something to be true, does not make it true.  Now, which "6 in a row" did the Jets lose?  Oh wait, you are going to claim a typo again, aren't you?  I know what backed in means.  But when you win 5 of your last 6 games, it does not apply.  In fact, losing just your last game is more 'backing in' than winning 5 of 6.  'Backing in" as ridiculous of a concept it is, is when you have secured a playoff spot earlier than most and then lose (actually lose, not when idiots think you should have lost), and still make the playoffs.  You continue to show what a total moron you are.  A win is a win is a win, regardless of the opponent, the month or the score.  If you somehow think otherwise, you should take some time and review the history of the NFL and look for astericks on teams that played against subpar team, lost toward the end of the season or only beat teams by a few points each week.

The Jets only made the playoffs because 2 other teams decided to rest players and backed in.  Again, who won the SB?

Keep saying that the Jets haven't beaten anyone good, they did crush the patsies.  So, you find a problem giving up 10 points to a team and winning by 16 points?  You sure are disrespecting that 2001 superbowl team.  Wait a minute, is this rusty pinkhat again?  Never mind, it's likely you haven't seen a pats game pre 2007.

In Response to Re: Rex the mouth Ryan already talking smack:
In Response to Re: Rex the mouth Ryan already talking smack : I don'y buy into this Strength Of Schedule garbage. It's based off LAST season's results, before the draft, before trades, before training camps open, before the first "boo-boo owie" happens, before the first season ending injury in week #1 of camp occurs, before the first nationasl media wore latches onto a "chic" pick to win the SB, and well before the annual "Will Brett Favre retire this time around?" pool opens up. I can see your point if this mythical Strength of Schedule is used in factoring in this season's final results, as if "handicapping" (a team gets "X" amount of popints if their SOS is in the top 5, 2nd 5, etc... and LOSE "Y" points if it's in teh bottom 5, bottom 10, etc). Otherwise, it's a debatable number, but is as irrelevent as the number of Big Games Gomer's gakked a hairball on. What happens on the field speaks for itself. Do you think this SOS has anything to do with the 'Boys stinking it up in Dallas?  Or how the Bengals are more like pussycats that have been declawed and neutered? OK, say you do. Then please explain the Bills and Panthers this year. PLEASE!

    Just to clarify:

I keep reading about Green New Jersey "backing into" the playoffs last season, which is not accurate. "Backing in" would indicate a team that lost at the end of the season but made the playoffs regardless. Conversely, Green New Jersey was "ushered in" by two teams that essentially laid down in front of them. It's a niggling difference, but when you argue with trolls, they will hang their hat on any available peg.

There you go.  No back handed complements there.  Now for all you that cant comprehend that the Jets are a good team I will offer you a bit of knowledge.  A lot of booshee about the Jets not beating good teams.  We beat just as many of the teams that they put on our schedule as they put on your schedule.  So many times on this forum, Pats fan talk about how there is so much parity in the NFL this year.  That means that most of the teams are not seperated by much.  While we have contributed to a bunch of their losing records it does not make them horrible.  Lastly, we beat you once already.  To call us bad is an embarassment to your intelligence.  While you won the afc east last year, we went to the AFC championship game.  Lets be realistic when you say that we were a 500 team last year.  Ill be a 500 team this year if it would guarantee me a trip to the afc championship game again.  I would take my chances against any 2 teams after that. I think we can match up with anyone in the league.  Looking forward to coming to foxborough and showing the fans up close what we have.

Rex Ryan's loud-mouth act has served him well in his short, head-coaching tenure with the JETS. Although Rex is treated like a King in New York right now, as soon as his team faces some real adversity, his players will see right through him - and realize what a buffoon he really is.

Old Rex is just being the typical troll. Making irrelevant statements and twisting words in a sorry attempt to sound wise. "Backed in" or "ushered in" makes no difference! The fact remains that had Peyton Manning started in week 16 the Jests would have finished 8-8 at best, and be watching the playoffs from home. Their defense is not dominant this season as it was in 09. Brady and the offense is better now in November than they were in 09 and in week 2. There is also the fact that BB has only lost a second matchup within a season a few times, I could count them on one hand! The trolls always squawk loudest when they're nervous! I'd say we'll get a true feeling for just how good the Jests are after they play NE, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. If Ryan is banking on another "late miracle" in these games he will be having a rude awakening. And I doubt any of their opponents will be resting their starters this December!
