Seymour said previously he would play for 30 other teams before he'd go back to the Patriots.  Not sure he'd be eager to return.

He left on "bad terms"....The Patriots did not want to pay for him then, nor will they after this season

Any chance we bring him back? He's still a pro bowler.

Seymour changed his tune. He now says he would play for 30 other NFL teams  AND any team in the CFL before he'd go back to the Pats.

    No. No. No.

Between the picks we have this year and the ability to trade into 2011-12, we'll draft the 2001 version of Richard Seymour. Won't happen this year (too far down at 17) but it will happen eventually.

Nnamdi O their top DB was also granted unrestricted free agency and Oakland has absolutely no rights to him and is owed nothing for his services and can't even request a draft choice....They can't place either the Franchise or transition tag on him..All I can say is go sign him BB and put him opposite McCourty then see how many passes aren't completed against his defense.

Why? Him laying down on the Pats once wasn't enough for you? Richard is a dog. Through and through.

It's unlikely he goes to the Jets unless Seymour takes far less than what he has been getting paid.

Jets can't sign more high end FAs when they have so many of their own to worry about.

Re: Richard Seymour a free agent

Yeah.... no on both Asa and Seymour. Actually I'd love to have Asa but both of them will be looking for huge pay-days. And by huge just as a comparison I think they willl be looking at contracts that are more then our entire WR staff combined or ILB's, OLB's, CB's, S's staff. I wish I was exaggerating but if you look at it:

    WR's ~ 10.1 mil
    ILB ~ 8.5 mil
    OLB ~ 6 mil
    S ~ 8.5 mil
    CB ~ 10 mil

This includes all bonuses and incentives being made and players on IR but not waived or released.

That's why the Pats are great they spend the money wisely building great depth. They pick and chose which players are worth the huge contracts because they anchor key positions (ie Brady, Wilfork, and maybe Mankins).

I'd like to have a guy thats not hurt every december. I think the 2011 version of richard seymore (pick 17) will be a lot better choice.
