I hate bernard poolard. Seriously. I give that guy no respect when it comes to playing football.

40% or 90%, I think Gronk will play. You have to keep the Giants D thinking.

[QUOTE]It was funny watching Marshall and Sapp talking like doctors saying Gronk should be in a compression sock and the Pats are making a grave mistake! Are those guys serious. If he needed to be in a compression sock I think the Pats would have him in one. Clowns.

I caught that, lots of negativity towards Patriots.  I wish they would just leave this to the people who know about these things.... like the medical staff.

    Re: Rob Gronkowski - UPDATE

No-one from the Patriots organization, incuding Gronkowski, absoutely states that Gronkowski will be playing on Sunday. Whether he plays or not remains speculative. The degree of his injury remains speculative. Thus, no-one can yet declare that he can play in the SB. What is fact is Gronkowski has not practiced since the last game and Solder was observed in practice playing the position of TE, with Vollmer on the O-line. It may not mean anything but to me it indicates that the status of Gronkowski is day to day and he may not play in the SB or his playing time will be very limited. As of now it appears that Solder will be playing a lot more TE, as he did in the previous game with the Giants. The previous game and SB were close games that the Patriots should have won. I believe this game will be determined by how well the O-lne can outplay the Giants defensive front and how well the secondary can outplay the Giants' receivers. If the Pats can accomplish these two primary objectives, as the Redskins did in both of their games against the Gints, and produce a moderate to above average rushing attack....Pats win their 4th ring.

    Re: Rob Gronkowski - UPDATE

No one has even speculated what grade sprain the injury was (1-3) and what level of what grade, yet every one has their own opinion hopeing to reinforce their own agenda, which is totaly ignorent and a waist of time. The total span of time for recovery can be 3 days to six months. So what ever your agenda is will determine what you think. What I saw was a player who has shown no sign of a change of gait from the celibration party till today at the media day where no support device at all was used. I saw no air cast which would normaly be used after the walking boot was shed. What I saw was a precausionary measure to be extra carefull not to agrivate a minor injury. But gossip and pursueing the worst case senario sells print and air time so that is what is pushed. All bull sh!t.

I hope they say nothing about it all week. I just hope he runs put of the tunnel before the game, in full uniform and goes out to kick butt for sixty minutes. No explanation required.

A wise man once told me "Beware the high ankle sprain".

It's as bad as the oblique strain in baseball.  They seem to rush it back because it sounds like such a wimpy injury.  Look at how the Steelers floundered once Ben R had the same injury.  In regards to Reese, the oblique cost him over 8 weeks in 2004.

I've seen more prognoses on this forum than the two clowns that think they're medical staffers. We'll all have 20/20 correct conjectures once the game begins. I to have an opinion from seeing so many, but Gronk could be the one of a very few exceptions. Still don't know if double coverage will be used to defend him, but his presence alone brings an awareness and he cannot be ignored.

The fact that he is walking with no boot is encouraging. It means we can rule out the complete tear of a ligament (grade III sprain). Grade I or II sprain does not really limit what a person can do, i.e. ankle has the same range of motion as before. The only real limitation in this scenario is pain. Gronk will be juiced and ready to go.

I'm glad you brought that up tcal2. Living down here in Virginia, I get to talk to alot of fans of different teams.  The majority pick is the giants by at LEAST 10.  They stated that the Patriots will be predictable on offense and their defense is horrible.  What makes me smile is I heard this same thing about the SB against the Rams and against the Eagles...Bring it!
