Any opinions on weather they try to trade this guy this off season? I know it would be a bad time to get maximum value for him, but I took a look at his contract and I don't think he'll be here past this season anyway...he's due a 10 million dollar bonus in 2015 to extend the remainder of his 53 million dollar contract. And when I think of this player regarding what he will be this season, I picture a guy on the pup maybe starting to play in November, being a shell of his former self. Keep in mind Gronk was a little nervous comming back from the wrist injury - I imagine it will be worse comming back from the knee.
So my fear is (aside from gronk getting injured again) that we are going to have Gronk at maybe 80% towards the end of next season, then we will cut him in the off season rather than give him a 10 million dollar bonus. I guess they could rework his deal, but I imagine that would have to be done closer to now, rather after he completes next season (and has more leverage).
Could we get a second rounder for him right now? He is a all world talent...the problem is he may never be that again after this knee injury.
