I have no idea why this M.O.R.O.N is allowed to speak on TV. I heard the same thing this morning and was going to start a topic. except called, "Why is this guy allowed to speak on tv?"

You forgot a majorly stupid thing he said,

"tom brady won't have the same season he had last year because he just doesn't have the weapons."

wat is he talking about!??!?!?!?! We have the same guys plus Chad, Ridley, and Vereen.

Then he says "the pats defense was ranked 30th last year." so that means they cant improve.

so in summary, the offense got worse bc he dont have the same weapons and the defense isnt allowed to improve despite u know the fact that our defense is yougn and learning and we added Haynesworth, Carter, Ellis.

just disugsting this guy is allowed to be there and none of us aren't.

The guy hates everyone.  I don't know that I have ever heard him make a case for the conventional wisdom.  After more than a few times listening to him, its hard not to conclude that he is simply a disingenuous pot stirrer.

He always has to bring race into debates that have almost nothing to with race as well.

He is a perfect opposite across from Skip, and that's why he's on that show.

Quick question as well, does ESPN pay Rob Parker since he is a writer to another company?  Is he like a part-time employee to ESPN?

Re: ROB Parker is an hater

The man is just voicing his opinion. Not everyone is gonna believe that the Pats are gonna go all the way.

The reason why i like ESPN and NFL Network is that they display less favoritism. If you only wanna hear 90% good things about the pats listen to local shows.

If Parker said, back in 2007, that the Giants were gonna beat them in the super bowl, you wouldve called him an idiot.

You can be a fan of the team and still be objective.

And i also think part of last seasons record was cause of luck...granted every team gets lucky...but the SD game could have easiliyt been lost if their receivers didnt make dumb fumbles...and we were lucky that we avoided Rodgers in the GB game.

That could be the difference between 14-2 and 12-4...and i think the perception of 14-2 is MUCH different than 12-4

Also, Brady and the offense played at an unbelievable level last season.  Its unfair to expect brady to have another season where he goes 300+ passes without an interception...im gonna guess around 12 INT's this season

That -8 in TO could change the outcome of one or two more games.

Again, everyone has good and bad luck.

We were a good team last season, i just never thought 14-2 good...just like the packers were better than the 10-6 they were.

Chances are,  Brady will not have as good a season as 2010...he'll still play great...but you cant expect 36:4 TD:INT ratio every season...Last year was among the top 5 in all time QB seasons

If your egg shell thin "ego" can't handle it, stay away from ESPN.

Have you ever taken the time to notice that, except for ESPN News or SportsCenter, EVERY show they do has differing opinions? It's sort of like "thought provoking". Plus, if they were all "vanilla", no one would watch. Or, you'd have LA fans screaming that ESPN hates the Dodgers/Angels! or Dallas fans jumping off roof tops because ESPN doesn't give teh Mavs "any credit for winning it all whatsoever". Or Tampa fans crying and whining that "Rays don't get any respect at all", no matter what their record is. Then there are the Texans fans, bichin' for 3 yeras now that "even if they can't break .500, they get dissed every year at the end of the season as 'disappointments'."

These "journalists/hosts" are getting paid to give their opinion, one way or the other. Can you imagine the low ratings if ESPN or any sports network had all their hosts/guests agree 100% lockstep with each other? Cripes! I'd just assume watch PBS! Peersonally, I just love it when these talking heads are proven wrong, and then try to find excuses why, instead of stating the obvious: THEY WERE IDIOTS AND BLEW IT!

If you still want to watch it, looking for hidden conspiracies and racial "Gottchya!" moments, then drop on back in when the event or predicted game comes to pass. It'll be pretty interesting.

    If you do watch, quitcherbichin.

Can you positively/absolutely guarandamntee that teh Pats offense this season will be better than the '10 offense? How much money out of your own pocket will you be betting that they will win the SB this season? Or that Brady will be the unanimous MVP for the rest of his playing career, using your logic of "no possible drop off", as long as he stays upright and healthy.

Improving defense? Hasn't that been "improving" for a few years now? Did you see the Lions game? It was an eye opener. And I don't want to hear anything about injuries, who did/didn't play, or it's only exhibition. Their QB's played like All Pros, and the Pats did absolutely NOTHING to stoop them, save for 1 INT (Saunders was cut after the game... so much for "improving". He's the one defender that actually DID something positive.) Again, I ask you if you can guarantee that this "improving" defense will improve enough to getto 16-0 (all they need is a 2 game inprovement, from 14-2). A two game inprovement isn't asking for much. Or, are you satisfied with losing to a division rival AND a woebegone Browns team, who the Pats made look like worldbeaters by halftime?

If they are "still improving", will you guarantee that they shut out the Bills and Fins, who scored a collective 10 points in teh last two good games the Pats played last season?

I don't read a lot into preseason games except for intensity and mistakes (mental and physical). I got nothing out of either of the first two pre-season games this year. But, the game vs the Lions was an eye opener and a shocker. In 3 of their last 5 games, they took losses when they looked like they had no business being on the field: 1) Game #14 when they beat the Packers (No Rodgers, home game, 1/2 the Packers roster on IR, Brady on a roll, the defense "improving"  = SCARE OF THIER LIVES (see: game #16, 2007 season)   2) 2010 playoff game vs JESTS! (Inability to keep Brady upright AND that "improving" defense giving up huge plays and getting shoved all over the field (Did eh defense "improve" enough for you during that game?)   3) Last week's debacle vs Lions  (Did you see that game? The WHOLE game? Starters, backups, players on the bubble all outplayed the Pats. That "improving" defense made the entire Lions roster look like All Pros, especially their QB's.)

If this is the best that the Pat's "improving" defense can do, then I say it's going to be another short post season. Pre-season game #3 is usually teh game that peaks volumes during pre-season. Granted there was the lockout and no OTA's, but if this manure pile is the BEST the Pat's could offer up, especially that "improving" defense, then it'll be a short post season. Including the JESTS! twice, the Pats play only five 2010 playoff teams this season (JESTS!, Steelers, Chiefs, Eagles, and Colts). Of these teams, let's agree that teh Chiefs were very lucky to get in, and the Colts had their chances to lose out, except for a poor division. Of their non-2010 playoff opponents, the Bolts, Cowboys, adn the Giants look to be really strong opponents. Let's see what this "improving" defense does this season.

And, PLEASE do not bring Haynesworth, Ellis, et all, into the equation, because they haven't played a single down this preseason. The jury is still out on them. UNless, of course, your 100% guaranteed crystal ball is working. IN that case you wouldn't be on this board, as you would have nailed every Pats game at Vegas sportsbooks, AND had teh winning num, bers to teh $300million+ lottery. Until then, stop insisting things WILL happen.

"Improving defenbse"..... we can only hope. A 14-2 team with a 30th rank defense speaks volumes. Suggest you start listening.

[QUOTE]You like ESPN because they display LESS favoritism? Are you f*cking high right now? ESPN is as bias as they come. They are a tabloid for sports fans. I dont mind NFL Network but ESPN is a f*cking joke.

You've more than stated your absolute and total dislike for ESPN. I'm kind of wondering if this dislike is real, or are you exhibiting the same "bias" against ESPN because they don't sugarcoat and agree in lockstep with everything you hold holy and pure?

I'd also like to believe that, if you are true to what you actuall say/write, then you wouldn't have a clue as to what the heck ESPN is EVER saying. But yet, here you are, AGAIN, putting forth your "opinion" on ESPN. So, which one is it? You a closet watcher, or have you got this thing for emotional "pain"?

Your anti ESPN rants aren't interesting anymore. Neither are your "I'm right and you've got problems agreeing with anything that comes out of any ESPN broadcast". So, I would suggest thet before you question if another poster is "high", nuts, crazy, or any other derogatory state of being (in your eyes or opinion), you take a step back from the ledge, put down the hatchet, and stay away from any thread directly about or referencing ESPN, or whatever "commentator" you may not like, has to say. It's becoming boring. We can either watch it for what it is, or take it personally. Guess what? I'm sure ESPN doesn't give a rat's asz about your thoughts, and I don't expect them to be beholding to any "I love ESPN!" pom pom wavers either. Only lobotomy patients/survivors like vanilla.

If it pains you so. then start posting about the benefits and good programming of the Fox Sports network, or even NESN.  Keep the personal attacks of posters disagreeingwith you out of the equation. You don't look good doing it.

ESPN does display less than the local shows. Keyword less. Of course you have guys like Gruden who never has a bad thing to say about Brady or the pats...but not all of them are like it.

Obviously Boston and NY get more headlines...but thats because thats where the big sports markets are.

After stating that the Pats were done and on the downside after that horrible game in 2007, Rob also commented that he does not like Boston sports teams because he grew up in Detroit and still has nightmares about the Celtics.

I saw the clip on ESPNBoston.com.  It's clear the guy has an agenda and his reasons honestly made no sense as to why he thinks the Patriots will go 9-7.  He doesn't have to pick them going 14-2 again but come on.
