I guess watching Cory Dillion wasn't helpful to Laura.  I wonder if there are any Maroney apologists left?

Maroney was having a pretty decent year before he got benched

he did a lot better than he did in the previous years.  if he keeps making improvements he can be a respectable piece to our offense

and what if RB by committee finally paid off and they pile up alot of yards and help take the heat off the passing game

Well that's that. Problem solved. Now BB will surely draft a pass rushing beast and a shut down corner and we'll win the Super Bowl. See you in Feb !!!!

Seattle and CaptainZdeno33 just for the record I was a Maroney supporter all season, and while nobody can justify the case of dropsies he had at the end of last season, it was the first time in his career he had issues with fumbles.

Moreover he has been successful in the past, all the nearsighted meatballs who don't understand that football is won in the trenches and can't remember past last season have been sniffing glue.  Quick Maroney bashers; who was our leading rusher AND our leading kick returner last season..?  oh yeah.. Maroney.

Our O line had more holes in it during the 2nd half last season than your brains do and none of you Maroney bashers can explain the phenomenon that when Maroney ran well so did Taylor and Morris, when he ran bad so did Taylor and Morris... maybe there is something there beyond Maroney?

Remove heads from rear, stop acting like you've played football beyond the pee wee level or Madden 08' for that matter, and/or that you have any idea what these guys do for a living.

If you played series at the pro level for an NFL team at halfback you would cry for your mamas after a linebacker or DT crushed you and probably never get up.

Wozzy there's no need to resort to personal insults.  The fact is that for years we have all seen Maroney dance and tiptoe up to the line and that's just not what a running back is supposed to do.  Yes linebackers and DTs hit hard which is why you and I and Maroney shouldn't be NFL running backs - only someone who's willing to take it should step up.

Maroney plays well and runs hard at times but that just makes him inconsistent and frustrating.  The team's best offseason move was getting rid of Watson ... next up is getting rid of Maroney.

I'm sorry I hadn't heard he was incarcerated, because the only thing he can break out of is jail....He must have meant he has learned how to incorperate Break dancing and moowalking into his dance routine as a running back.

You'd think Maroney has learned that you keep quiet and prove it on the field after being a Patriot for over 4 years. That's how Belichick does it, that's how Brady does it, that's how Dillion did it, that's how Willie-Mac, Bruschi, and Harrison did it.

SHUT UP, Maroney! Prove you are ready to have a breakout year on the field, but shut up.

I disagree with everything you said, but especially the above...  First off point out where I resorted to "personal insults," its something you continue to parrot about me but have yet to substantiate?

If it's your attempt to prompt the moderators to kick me off because you've been slapped around by logic so often that you're tired of it and your solution is to try and get me kicked off than it's just pathetic... if you think that's insulting to you maybe you should consider therapy for being overly sensitive.  My referring to "Maroney bashers" isn't mutually exclusive to you, in fact I don't consider you at all or even know you exist until you respond to my post with such hyper sensitivity...

As far as Maroney is concerned he has a career rushing average of 4.2 yards which, if stacked against the stats of other 4th year runningbacks throughout history is pretty solid.

Injury happens... last year he fumbled 4 times, obviously unacceptable, but prior to that he had fumbled once in nearly 600 carries.

He has never gotten a lot of carries, that has always been the coaches discretion as we have almost always had runningback by commitee during his time here.
The only time we didn't use multiple backs is when we were emptying out the tanks of Corey Dillon and Antoine Smith; both who had very team friendly contracts and were playing out their last days...  sort of like we did with Fred Taylor until he got hurt...  maybe there's more to our running woes than Maroney?

#1) Please define successful as you say Maroney has been "Successful"

#2) Your "leading rusher" was playing on a team where the 2 guys that they wanted to rush were hurt all year.

#3) Your "leading Return man"...As soon as they stick somebody else in at that role they will be your leading return man

Just throw  all the fumbles and dancing and other bad points out the window. Those aren't important.

And then you rip everyone who disagrees with you like they are dumb.

No wonder why I am a Colts fan
