brady was phenomenal today, one of his best playoff performances ever. you wont get an argument from me about that. an even tougher test comes next sunday against a familiar foe. i think the pats have the firepower to get it done, but we shall see. -

Nope. Good thing we changed up the awful first two drive tactics. Take away about 5 passes and a 50 point game if we didn;t come out in such an awful formation to start.40 passes or less is preferred, as we all know. But, you keep rooting for a loss, dribbly.

I don't think 40 is the magical number with number. They are all about snapping it quickly and keeping the d on their toes. That lends itself to more passing and just more plays in general. Also this year Brady's release time is out of this world. On top you might be the only person that think the Pats are better in the ball in Ridley's arms instead of Brady's hand. The rest Ridley didn't start and played second fiddle is because of the fumbles. It is like when Welker goes back for punt late in a tight game. If he can't trust you, he is not going to play you when it mattters most.
It's a balance, but we lost a SB last year because Brady wanted to run that shotgun base crap with Woodhead.We saw it again tonight, why and what actually works.

Ridley didn't make the difference. He barely played in the first half and was pulled in the red zone for Vareen. A very impressive game for Vareen no doubt.

It's pretty weak that after 8 weeks it's not healed. Not sure who to blame there but mother nature. It might be a blessing in disguise where they run it more anyway. As great as Gronk is, there's a reason why they haven't missed a beat without him.
1. NE's D has been great.
2. They are forced to run it more vs trying to hit Welker and Gronk.
They ran it 24 times (1 by Brady, which isn't really a run) and ball hog selfish Brady threw it FORTY times ! Almost 2-1 ! That is your recipes for disaster !!! 40 throws AND no balance. Get real -

I'll share. Brady's play was marginal. Look, when the defense is stopping the opposition entirely, it is not difficult for one of the best QB's in the league to turn in a decent performance. When Tom Brady's team is challenged, he's a different, less effective player.

I find it rather amusing to read all this.
According to what I'm reading, Brady apparently gets to do whatever he wants and run that "shotgun\finesse" spread at his own whim.
Except when it gets down to being the last two minutes of any half--like last night when the Pats had the ball with something like 1:15 or 1:30 on the clock and two time-outs, and just decided to play dead and do nothing. That was all Josh's fault for making conservative calls and playing it too safe.
