    Scary Chargers statistic

From CBS sports.com Not just that 8 have died. People will argue the cause of the 3 heart related deaths and Seau's suicide but the other four are like a list of well known ways ro get killed by accident.

Seau was a star linebacker on the 1994 San Diego Chargers, a club that went to the franchise's only Super Bowl. Only now it's a club that just subtracted its eighth player.

Go ahead and call roll, and you find that linebacker Lew Bush died last December from a heart attack. Defensive lineman Chris Mims died the same year that teammate Shawn Lee was a victim of cardiac arrest. Mims had an enlarged heart. Running back Rodney Culver was killed in a plane crash. Linebacker David Griggs was killed in a car crash. Linebacker Doug Miller was struck by lightning. Center Curtis Whitley died of a drug overdose.

circle of life and death.. in 20 years, we could  be looking at the 2001 or 2003 SB champs in the same way as guys like willie mcginest  and seymour start dropping and we all come here to mourn!

    That is troubling.

We see criticisms all the time of the increased emphasis on player safety.  To me, there isn't any big hit in any game at any level that is worth shortening the life of a player by a single day.

I wonder if anyone can find out how many players from 1994 have since died.

8 seems like a LOT from one team.

"Don't need a weathervane to know which way the wind blows". Football is toxic, physically and emotionally.

Most car accident deaths are alcohol related and are indirect forms of suicide.
