Scouting Combine Day 3: Rising and Falling

    http://profootball.scout.com/2/949816.html

    Dorin Dickerson, TE/FB,Pittsburgh

A classic tweener prospect, Dickerson had a solid 2009 season and caught 49 passes for 529 yards and 10 touchdowns. But measuring in at 6-foot-1, 226 pounds this weekend, Dickerson doesn’t possess the size necessary to line up at tight end. But on Saturday, he demonstrated the speed to separate in the open field. Dickerson had arguably the best workout on Saturday, as he registered the best time in the 40 (4.4) and vertical jump (43.5-inches). After the performance that Dickerson turned in on Saturday, his draft stock can only increase; most likely he will move into the fourth or fifth round.

Intriguing possibilities don't you think? Sounds like a BB kind of guy.

Some see him as an H-back, but with those numbers, he could be a big wide receiver.  Only one WR ran a faster 40, and his vertical is insane.  If he could lose 5-10 pounds and line up on the outside, he'd be a mismatch.  But it looks like he'll end up playing a variety of roles.

Re: Scouting Combine Day 3: Rising and Falling

Pretty deep TE draft this year with atleat 9 players projected to drafted in the first 3 rounds.  If they went with a raw player, I'd prefer Jimmy Graham who performed almost as well athletically, but measures in at 6-6 260.

    Jermaine Gresham- Oklahoma
    Rob Gronkowski- Arizona
    Aaron Hernandez- Florida
    Jimmy Graham- Miami
    Dennis Pitta- BYU
    Tony Moeaki- Iowa
    Anthony McCoy- USC
    Ed Dickson- Oregon
    Colin Peek- Alabama
