Orlando, Fla.—At his first NFC coaches breakfast here today, Seattle coach Pete Carroll spoke about his team's interest in Broncos' restricted free agent receiver Brandon Marshall.

Carroll said Seahawks GM John Schneider has talked with the Broncos and Marshall's agent Kennard McGuire. Because Marshall is a restricted free agent, the Seahawks would probably have to first settle on a new contract with the receiver, and then talk compensation with the Broncos. It appears the Seahawks are not willing to sign Marshall to an offer sheet that would mean surrendering their No. 6 overall draft pick to Denver.

"There has been some talk," Carroll said. "John has handled that so far. But it's very preliminary."

The Seahawks flew Marshall and his fiance Michi Nogami-Campbell into their headquarters by seaplane for a visit on March 6-7.

"Knowing he has a chance to be available just like any other aspect of building a football team we're looking for the best guys we can possibly find,"Carroll said.

"See what we can do with him and see what his individual situation holds and there's a chance you can find a way to get him."

Carroll's coaching staff in Seattle includes three of Marshall's former Broncos coaches, offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, receivers coach Jedd Fisch and tight end coach Pat McPherson.

"Those guys all know him so they gave us unique insight on how he can fit into our offense and what he can do to help us," Carroll said.

    Josh Reed you're the man!
BB I hope you know what you're doing; this isn't the 2006 Pats and the defense is not going to save this team.

I hope they sign him! This is why Pete Carroll has bombed twice in the NFL, and he is gonna do it again.  He will never learn. His rah rah rah, pat them on the back and send them out there crap, doesnt work in the NFL. That doesn't make everything good. Pete Carroll is probably the last coach Marshall should play for. That being said; SIGN THE MAN!

Yup, looks like the Marshall plan was never even a thought in Foxboro.  So who will be our WR opposite Moss this year?

Well, if Marshall goes to Seattle then maybe Branch will become available....having him back would be a great addition to our #2 WR if he can stay healthy.

I read this article with the same enthusiasm you guys have; stinks for us.

I guess we'll have to see who will be lining up opposite Moss next year.

Any guesses where the WR is going?

Laveranues Coles, Kevin Curtis, Josh Reed, Malcom Floyd? That's all we've got to choose from? The Pats better keep an eye on Golden Tate BC these prospects are slim. I'd love to see Deion back but Its been about 5 seasons since Mr Branch did anything worth talking about...

i agree he would be expendable. maybe the pats could benefit from him again if they work out a trade.

that would be weird seeing patten and branch back on the field again

According to Mike Reiss it won't be Josh Reed as his agent told him that Josh is looking for a starting job as a Slot receiver, there isn't an opening on the Patriots.
