    Hopkins is a WR.

Pats need DL depth due to age and next years pending free agency. BB always thinking 2 steps ahead of guys like you.

The Atlanta trade seems rich. I heard Falcons want to move up but they need cbs too. Great work nevertheless; classic BB. Now if only other teams cooperate.

Fair point.  From a "best player available" standpoint, these seemed to be the appropriate fits in my eyes.  I could argue that there is a long-term need for both DT and DE on our roster.  Obviously CB, S, and OL could be in play too.

Interesting - I think if BB could get those trades today he would jump with both feet. Not saying they are over-valued towards the Pats, just think he would love to be able to collect the draft capital this year and next.

I do think Smith will go earlier - I think top 10 is possible, but I think their are probably 4 teams that will be playing chicken in the first round re QB and the first to 'blink' will happen somewhere in the teens. Once that happens then the game of chicken will get more intense and the end of the first round/top of the second could get wild.

I also suspect that the Browns could be the first team to trade back in the first - Miami looking for a LT and having draft capital to spend may be the partner.

And I think TB, Arizona, and Cleveland would all be interested in Mallett. Buffalo and Phily do not have the system fit with their new coaches. Mid second round would be a likely spot for any action in that regard which is where you peg it.

I also expect a lot of action from SF so would not be surprised in their dumping some picks to move up in either or both round 1 and 2. Don't expect big moves forward but more like the Pats moves last year of 5 to 10 spots.

Well, I see that your draft is really centered around best player available for fun, but I think if BB would go position if he went for a DT already in Rd 2.

I just noticed you have Jesse Williams going to NE, too!  Wow, bro.  Also, I think he's gone way before that.

I'd like the Sylvester pick and then off your list, I'd just take WR Keenan Allen at that point.

    Hey Rusty.

Maybe I didn't make it clear, but I have Tennessee trading up to 33 to take S. Williams.  NE's picks in my mock are all in 2nd round:  Hopkins, Okafor, & Jesse Williams.

Good thoughts. There are so many different directions this draft could go...

I like the thought process as you were donning the Magic hat that BB uses but you would have to draft Jesse Williams before Hopkins, Okefor is an interesting DE option so I have too ask what the need level is vs a position of need like DB and Ryan Logan is still on the board. Lastly I'd prefer Williams the WR over Hopkins and wouldn't even be upset if Swope was drafted instead of the others.

Hopkins avaible in the 40th pick? I don`t think so, and 2 Dlineman in the second it`s hard to believe, I would pick DL,WR,CB with this picks in the second.

I think the board is over rating the WR group in general. The WR's in the draft are numerous, but here is a general lack of talent in this years group.

Maybe 1-2 in round 1, but no sure stars. Lots available in rds2-4 that are just quite similar in probability.

Thats why the Sanders interest surprised me. Pats can get a 3 rd rounder with less certainty than Sanders, but quite possibly a higher ceiling, for a fraction of he Sanders cost.
