I have to think Belichick will use some of his next year draft picks (He's sitting on three 2nd rounders) and perhaps even Ben Watson as trade to cut a deal with for Julius Peppers. The Pats are overloaded at TE. Watson and Thomas are both going to be UFA's and I think Belichick is kind of into trading/doing deals right now.
NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said the Carolina Panthers shouldn't trade franchised defensive end Julius Peppers unless they receive "tremendous value" in return.
Asked to define what he'd consider ample compensation, Mayock said: "A first round pick -- plus ... plus an existing player who is good young player in the National Football League or another draft pick this year or next year. It would have to be a high pick."
