this is revealing since preseason predictions based on last years records are ridiculous .  The NFL has more year to year turnover, etc....

So I find this current data interesting so thanks for the post... Seahawks look like a good matchup for NE.

Jints fans should be worried .  49ers will be a wake up call for Eli and co.
a "wake up call" ? what the hell are you talking about?
It's  when you wake up from a cupcake land of opponents like Cleveland and find yourself getting beat down by a top ranked defense.  You'll see on Sunday, it will all start making sense for you...

gee and i thought we played them twice last year-actually beat them last time too

and of course u need another team to do what u cant so u can live vicariously thru them huh?

but tho jints have to go to their place and tho giants are at way less than full strength-including down to 3rd string cb/s - we will trudge onward while pats play yet another div one foe

No significant difference in the overall records of the AFCE and NFCE.

    9-11 vs 10-9 respectively.

it changes week to week and means squat...giants have toughest schedule in nfl based on last years records, which is the only measurement the nfl uses...pats have the second easiest...this idea of schedule strength based on a teams weekly performances is nonsense...gmen already played cowboys and eagles and will play saints ravens 49ers steelers packers and eagles and cowboys again

thats called a brutal schedule...a Champions schedule, which makes me wonder how the pats played in the sb and yet play powder puffs...i think its a plot by goodell to make sure pats win every year..i mean ur division is weak enough w/o powder puffs outside it  :  )

jints i guessed, apparently wrongly, that you new how the schedule is determined. i see that you dont. please look it up and it will allay any concerns (it is determined years ahead of time with formula based on rotating divisions)

actually i do know that but its awful funny how it works out sometimes

and there should be leeway based on previous years finish-how can the team that finishes number 2 lets say have a schedule that is 25th hardest?

also, home and away counts...giants went to sf last and have to again-jets been to oakland 5 straight yrs they NEVER come east
"actually i do know that but its awful funny how it works out sometimes"

i agree with you.there (i thoght you had concerns something was up there).

i agree that you have a point about leeway, better teams playing better teams.

however the nfl wants each team to have an even chance to win their division (and play the same teams). i get that too.

Jints.... seemed many thought the Pats had a cupcake schedule going into this season and look who has one now??  Getting defensive?? Last year's teams are NOT 2012 teams!!!
Hey, I got nothing against a bong hit or two, but big boys ought to stop once they have reached their limit.

Let's examine your list in your so-called "brutal schedule," shall we?

Yes, you play the 4-1 Ravens and the 4-1 49ers, both good teams. But the Pats play both of those teams this year, so those cancel out.

What is left on your list is the Cowboys, Eagles, Saints, Steelers and Packers. Hmmm, let's see what the stats say?

Team, Wins, Losses, PF, PA, Differential, (Note)

Cowboys, 2-2, 65, 88, -23 (beaten by 16 at home to the punchless Bears)

Eagles, 3-2, 80, 99, -19 (Vick trying to set the career record for turnovers in 1 season)

    Saints, 1-4, 141, 154, -13 (But for Norv Turner, would be 0-5)

Steelers, 2-3, 116, 115, +1 (Mash units have fielded healthier teams)

Packers, 2-3, 112, 111, +1 (Taken down by that AFC powerhouse w/rook QB, Indy)

    Total, 10-14, 514, 567, -53

Woooo...that sure is BRUUUUTAL, I tell ya.
amazing -you missed the entire point of my post and proved it by doing just what i said u would

EVERY one of those teams are loaded with TALENT and if they play to it can beat anyone, the  bad/mediocre teams do not and cannot. the packers saints , etc are still the packers and saints, regardless of ur rather simple-minded , out of context,  short sighted "analysis"...can u understand this yet or do i need to REALLY explain it to you

see, the qbs they face are still named rogers and brees and romo and vick and rothlesbrger, regardless of what they did last wk or this season...but maybe this is too advanced for a pats fan?

i mean playing sanchez fitzpatrick and tannehill twice this year i guess u wouldnt understand this-and dont embarrass urself by denying the AFC LEAST isnt worth 5-6 wins EVERY year
this guy's (digger is it?) "logic" is the equivalent of someone who would look at babe ruth in a two week slump ( in the middle hitting 60 homers )and say 'he's overrated"...

i mean what kind of maroon could look at the last 5-7 years of football and think a schedule with those teams isnt ridiculously hard? i dont give a damn what their current record is or how they played last week that is irrelevant..

.but keep cherry picking if it makes pats college schedule look harder and jints #1 schedule look less
As Jack Nicholson said, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"

The truth is that the NFL is a different league every year. The teams that were great last year, may not be this year; and vice versa. The truth is that your so-called "brutal schedule" isn't really all that hard.

As far as "cherry picking" is concerned, you come across even more overly stupid than you are, since all I did was pull up the records of the teams that YOU claimed were brutal opponents. Further, I did not mention the Pats' schedule at all, so that only compounds the illogical nature of your thought process and inability to handle the truth.
