    Sudfeld to Jets.

Tight end Zach Sudfeld, waived by the New England Patriots on Thursday, was claimed by the New York Jets on Friday, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini

    Sudfeld

By claiming Sudfeld, the Jets absorb the balance of his contract.

The undrafted free agent was a standout during offseason workouts and training camp for the Patriots, shining in a preseason game against the Buccaneers as he worked to cement a roster spot.

He struggled out of the gate during the regular season, however, failing to catch a pass in Week 1 and dropping a throw that led to an interception. He was inactive during Week 2 due to a hamstring injury, and played a limited role in the following weeks.

The Patriots still have three tight ends on their active roster, though it is unclear if Rob Gronkowski, listed as questionable on the injury report, will play this Sunday.

Had Sudfeld cleared waivers, he would have been a logical choice to re-sign to the practice squad.

Not surprised, and a good spot for the kid. He clearly has talent and potential, needs a few seasons to reach it...he didn't play much in college

Sudfeld immediately becomes the best receiver on the Jetsies.

Imagine getting a chance with the Pats and Brady then going to Rex Ryan, Geno Smith and that locker room?

    OUCH

Seriously, it's like dating Kate Upton only to get dumped and end up with the local town $lut who is obsessed with feet.

might be interesting for the kid to live in NYC with some money in his pocket.  Maybe take the spotlight away from Gronk.

Good signing by Rex, hopefully Sudfeld is mistake riddled in 2 plus more weeks. It will be interesting to see if he gets a lot of reps for MNF. I think Sudfeld will be a good TE if given the reps and allowed to make the mistakes until he gets better.

Obviously he made a lot of mistakes in his limited chances here.

Maybe he's getting what he wants...  Tanked the regular season so he could sign on somewhere else.

Now he becomes the latest Curtis martin, ty law , matt Chatham...  But maybe jets want him to be the Danny woodhead...in reverse.

The frustration is what once was assumed to be a position of strength and upside, even after the whole Hernandez ordeal. Has quickly dwindled down to just meeegh.  Jake Ballard was supposed to be the next Mark Bavarro(hyperbole) or at least a servicable blocker like Daniel Graham, Gronk was supposed to miss a few games,3 the most and Sudfeld was the diamond in the rough to progressively replace Hernandez.  Here's to Mulligan and Hooman what what, get on the bus

Have BB and the coaching staff lost the ability to evaluate talent?   Could they not learn during preseason this kid was not right for them, and use roster slots for players who belong on the team?   It's clear they've been thin at DL, with no NT replacement at all.  Why not acquire, keep and develop a backup NT rather than Sudfeld?  Now they have to scramble and pickings are slim.

Maybe BB has multiple personality disorder, where GMBB does bad things. So bad only HCBB can fix them.  Thank God we have HCBB.

    HCBB goes...

I think bringing back Quentin Sims makes sense at this point.  Hes a big receiver kind of like a small TE... You basically get what you just let go in a WR package...

Then we'll have 8 wrs on the roster... Lol. . GMBB goes WTH is going on here?
