How about that...? There is a rational ruling coming from the NFL...
Too bad he wasn't around in 2007 when goodell screwed the patriots.
Is it too late?

NFLPA wasn't involved in that, so the process was entirely different.
Kraft could have taken Goodell to court and won. But Bob knows that would have been cutting off his nose to spite his face. That kind of intense courtroom scrutiny would have exposed the extent of that sort of thing league-wide. And Bob knows that could only in the end hurt the credibility of the league and therefore hurt his team even more than taking it on the chin for Goodell's stupidity did.
If only BB was not so dumb as to keep doing it after the memo came out, Goodell wouldn't have had a chance to be the moron that he is.

The penalty was ridiculous and excessive without ANY court review. Why not due process...?

the subject of spygate will always come up from time to time. It's the past. They cheated, got penalized. It's done and over with.

What's the point of the appeal? What do the Pats have to gain?

What about due process or fairness or justice...? Goodell needs to be embarrassed... That's what tagliabue is here for... To restore sanity and common sense to clearly corrupted office.
Take advantage of this opportunity...?

What about history...? Not having this excessive incorrect ruling vacated and factually verified hurts this team forever.
What the team acknowledged and what they were penalized for are 2 entirely different things.
having a rational non politicized look at this would be a great step in the right direction.

Confused. Do you want Kraft and BB to appeal that the punishments were too severe?
There's no doubt that the Pats did something. Whether it helped a lot or a little can't be determined since Goodell "burned" the tapes.
Don't see how the Pats could win in this situation. Only thing this does is take Goodell down. However, bringing spygate up might not be best for the organization.
Only thing that could possibly help the Pats would be if the publicized. Biggest thing that could've helped was the alleged tape of Herm Edwards waving at the camera. If Herm knew the Pats were taping, I'm sure other coaches had an idea too...which would probably make spygate completely useless.
Goodell's reputation is already tarnished. Everyone already knows he's inconsistent with his punishments and takes everything a bit too far.

Spygate is a done and over. The only thing it provided was an excuse for other teams and their fan bases to b*tch about the Patriot's success and the model franchise it has become.

Goodell is such a doofus. The whole power-trip thing has blown up in his face. It's better to not rock the boat and rule consistently. Spygate was the biggest pile of horsesh*t so far blown out of proportion it was laughable. Any fan that puts any weight whatsoever in spygate conspiracy theories loses all credibility in my book. The whole thing was fueled by jealousy.
