Wasn't this the guy alot of posters were calling a thug when we first traded for him? Claimed he was going to be a malcontent and what was BB thinking?

Just curious. BB gets all the kudos for trading for Talib and turning the season around. BB also gets kudos for the Dennerd find in the late rounds.
If the Pats have to go over board to sign a cover corner, be it Talib or some one else, and it costs the Pats Vollmer or Wes, does BB get criticized for RasI, Wilson or Chung not panning out? 3 second round draft choices not contributing much, although it is early on Wilson.

No way we sign Welker for 5 years. The length of contract is the whole sticking point.

length of contract means nothing. its the guaranteed money that matters.
football players can be cut at any time

They offered him 2-18. All guaranteed money. Welker wants a 4 or 5 yr contract. Google it. He's too old for that long of a contract. -

one more time, length of contract means nothing (re the team's obligation)he yields on per year or hes tagged (or let go)

The guy can play, as said he gives the defense swagger, he's aggressive plays his man tight, makes a small window for the quarterback. Tackles well, very seldom fooled . He and Dennard are the big differences in last years team. I think they win the SB , and they will be very instrumental, especially Talib.
I hope they resign him.

re 18 mil fopr 2 years
for me , its too much money per year with the cap and with the needs we have this season. -

That's what they offered him because we don't want to give an " older" receiver a 5 year contract. -

5 year contrtact means nothing when you can cut him after a year. only the guaranteed money matters -
