~Back....maybe-
"31 Teams hating the Patriots," I'm not sure I would fully sign-off on as such an all encompasing absolute of epic proportions... And honestly here, IF I had to make a case in court, and Terrell Suggs along with Bart Scott were my sole 2 character witnesses I had to solidify whatever my claim....well- Your best bet would probably be to forsake that pocket-emptying high profile blue-chip Defense Attorney, ya mighta been thinkin'a hirin'- Trully, just through some of those funds on your prison books, and spend the rest on a good personal defense trainer...'cause your case doesn't have a snowballs chance in he!! & so you're already as good as g-o-n-e.
Yet, despite the usual headache rhetorics high(school) bombasts of Suggs & Scott, "31 Teams hating the Patriots..."??? ...Yea...well, yeeaaa: I can see that.
On the plus side- I can't even imagine how it's even possible to be Division winners in something like 12 of the past 14 seasons or better, have 3 Superbowl Championships under your belt, 2 additional SB appearances, and finally even at least 2 extra Championship appearances on top of everything else...
On the minus side- Shoot, I've been bred in to The Pats fandom as a family birthright, and can recall watching Sunday game after Sunday game with my parents during my entire childhood, heading back to even '83 when I was all'a 6 or 7 years old- So what I'm sneaking around attempting to say, I suppose, is: Even I hate Patriot Fans now...and I ain't got 1 other team...in 1 other sport...that I'm passionate 1 bit about- Hands down (and w/ an overwhelmingly great part, as an unfortunate offshoot of their own successes), You simply could not find 1 other NFL Team, which could even come close to rivaling NE for the following type of fans: Bandwagon affluent baby boomers (and fams) whom have never played football, nor had even actually cared about football, until their regional pro team in NE started takin' home Championships... Other than that, NE might also be hated because they place an absolute value on every person (and/or considered person), at every position...and DON'T budge an inch (yet, still far, FAR too many times have left 6, 8, 10, 12, and even 13/14 mil unspent on the team's cap, during the heyday of our HOF QB's playing days; Seasons wherein, just 1 single recognizable pass-rush specialist @ 4-3 DE/DT/3-4 WOLB/3-4 DE, 1 or 2 single above average DBs, just 1 more play-making LB or TE- VERY well could- And in all probability (considering how close we came so often when we fell just short), Probably would- Have solidified us a Lombardi in Seasons where we were just 1 play in 1 game short...or short by just 1 play, or 1 or 2 drives, during the Ultimate and final SB Contest itself... Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is that We are really- And I mean, realllllly, really, really-ahhh: Too "white" on Offense...for not just 1 or 2 years, but for about half a decade now (we really need someone like Bruce Armstrong on the LOS)- And, we play-ahh: Really, really "white"; We play Vanilla <quick-strike series or zippo, pass, pass, pass, and then pass, no tempo control, and not even close to enough enforcing of your own will on the opposing D by goin' right at 'em, breaking their own will and hearts by O guys beating up enough on the D through a power-based (or just power back)- running game>, and we look Vanilla <that's too much vanilla>.
-It's sorta like watching John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, in the year 2013, Playing Mr. Bad-### Tough-Guy... Ya end up leaving with an impression something like, "Yeaa...I mean, that was nice an' all- Annnd, I'm sure that coulda flown 20 or 30 years ago...but now? hm-hmm- I'd eat both of those guys in their primes for breakfast."
-Look, I wanna pen some form of deferential "mea culpa" at these above thoughts, but I just can't- It's simply far too true as it stands currently; And so now, we're looking for the biggest, meanest, headcase bullies to respect "Our Fans," "Our Game", and "How we play it (them)?" =It ain't gonna happen... Because: Currently, there is still far too many instances wherein NE plays the game on the field, and there are still far too many NE Fans whom are still sooo overly-spoiled, and overly-entitled (and all the while, being under-knowledged when you've never suited up even at a pop warner level, and have only been interested in the sport for under a decade), AS: the metaphorical equivelant of a child whom rather than just smacking said "bully" right in the jaw (and then jumping on him), instead seem more like the kid who'll tell the teacher...or try to take "the high road", or what-ever. Too much pacifying and enabling of the predator, rather than just manning straight-up and trying to knock his teeth out...
...so did my 1st post back win me any pals?
<btw: bobbysu- My computer was broke forever, yet when I was home for Thanksgiving, I saw a thread ya threw out callin' for me to come back... Here, ta say I appreciate and appreciated the memorable sentiment my man-thanx>
