    Projecting Inactives

    By Field Yates | ESPNBoston.com

Injuries to defensive end  Rob Ninkovich and cornerbacks  Aqib Talib and  Alfonzo Dennard have been a focus for the Patriots this week, but Friday's official injury report brought good news as both Talib and Ninkovich were removed, meaning they'll be on the field this Sunday, while Dennard is listed as probable. In fact, the Patriots are in a very good spot overall as it relates to the health of their team, with just five players on the injury report, all of whom are listed as probable.

With all of that in mind, here's a shot at projecting the Patriots' seven inactive players for Sunday.

    Defensive end Jake Bequette
    Reason: Depth
Quick-hit: Bequette hasn't been able to crack the regular defensive end rotation. Look for a bigger role for the third-round pick in 2013.

    Wide receiver Kamar Aiken
    Reason: Depth
Quick-hit: Aiken was a recent call-up from the practice squad, and has not caught a pass this season.

    Offensive lineman Markus Zusevics
    Reason: Depth
Quick-hit: A developmental prospect who should be more active in 2013.

    Tight end Daniel Fells
    Reason: Depth
Quick-hit: With  Rob Gronkowski and  Aaron Hernandez on the field and  Michael Hoomanawanuias a reserve player, the Patriots may not need four tight ends this Sunday.

    Defensive back Derrick Martin
    Reason: Depth
Quick-hit: With  Marquice Cole no longer listed on the injury report, the Patriots are in good shape depth-wise at cornerback.

    Offensive lineman Nick McDonald
    Reason: Depth
Quick-hit: The Patriots have key reserve players along the offensive line in  Donald Thomas and Marcus Cannon in case of injury.

    Defensive back Malcolm Williams
    Reason: Depth
Quick-hit: With  Nate Ebner removed from the injury report on Friday, the Patriots will return one of their top special-teamers this Sunday. That could slide Williams off the game-day roster.

Good list Rocky.  I think Fells will be active giving them 4 TE's. So who would be the person put on the inactive list in his place?

I'd be more comfortable with this game if the weather wasn't as nice. If NWE is going to stop Foster and make Schaub try to win this for Tex, I'd rather that he have to deal with rain or extremely cold weather. I hope the Monday showers come 12 hours earlier.

    9. Did You Know, Part 1: Since the NFL moved to a 12-team playoff format in 1990, the No. 1 seed in the AFC has compiled a 13-10 record in the divisional playoffs.

    10. Did You Know, Part 2: Belichick is 17-7 in the playoffs as a head coach, tied with Joe Gibbs for the third-most playoff wins in NFL history. Only Tom Landry (20) and Don Shula (19) have more.

    11. Did You Know, Part 3: Deion Branch (54) needs five receptions and Wes Welker (53) needs six receptions to pass Troy Brown for most postseason receptions in Patriots history

Special Teams had big outcomes in both games yesterday. Muffed Punts, Runbacks, Great Punting for Field Position, FG's. In Big Games Special Teams always has a huge impact. Keep an eye out for this today. Football Fans take Special Teams for granted.

Watching Holliday (Sp) last night, made me wonder how Demps would have fared this season, had he stayed healthy?

Nah, Pats are the better team, playing at home ... they don't need a bad weather advantage. Besides, better weather = lower probablity of injuries .... we have to think about next Sunday. Also, new Pats have a lot of guys who are not proven cold weather performers now ... ridley, vereen, talib, gregory, spikes, dennard, bolden, hightower, jones. Not saying they can't perform, just no track record of doing it like TB12.

Denver would have not been in the game at all if it wasn't for those Big returns.
