    Thank You Cleveland!

A special thanks to the Cleveland Browns, but signing Watson the Pats will be forced to draft, trade, or pickup a real TE!

Unfortunately we haven't been real good at draft, trade or picking up a real TE resently.

Yes and its ironic that you thank Cleveland for taking Watson off the Pats hands and then your tag says ---- Dont question Belichick.  Wasnt he the guy (along with others) that drafted Watson in the first place?  Another first round pick that did not pan out.  Not good.

Guys lets be honest here.  Watson frustrated me as much as anyone at times, but most of the expectations were because he was a 1st round pick, and rightfully so.

That being said,  if you just think of him as an NFL player and not a 1st round pick, we still have a pretty significant void to fill by losing him.  While inconsistent, he did provide an occasional big play element to the Patriots offense (33 receptions of 20+ yards) and was a solid target in the red zone (20 touchdown catches).  He was also a solid blocker.

If the Patriots get someone more consistent, great, I'll love it.  But losing him today makes the team worse than it was yesterday, not better.

Who do you have in mind?

Gresham might be too high at 22 but I wouldn't mind them getting either Gronkowski, Hernandez, or that kid Jimmy Graham with #49.

Ben played heard though he did drop balls from time to time who doesn't does anyone remember the first game of the season against buffalo pretty sure he came up with two clutch Touchdown catches to win. Also has done more than enough he is still a top tight end he blocked well too. Cleveland gets a good pickup . too bad they dont have anyone to throw to him. We will probably pick up crump and go tight end with the last of our 2nd round picks!

It was his skill set & potential that got him drafted. He's no longer a Patriot because he never was able to put it all together. Think of him like Buster Douglas, but without that one brilliant moment.

cc, that would of been an awesome year if it were a one game season.

    Re: Thank You Cleveland!

And as a bonus the Pats should get a fifth round compensatory pick next year. Not bad considering they didn't appear to want him back. This, of course, is assuming they don't sign any big money FA's. Add that to the fourth round compensatory for Jarvis Green and the First for Seymour. The 2011 draft is shaping up rather nicely.
