You know why?   The Patriots NEVER give the media juicy tidbits.  They never cry, whine, complain about calls or diss the other team.  They call it as they see it, "we could have played better", "we'll learn from this and improve" blah blah blah to the media.  Why do you think they love Ryan and mouths like Porter and Rhodes?  Gives them front page fodder!

The Patriots went from the media Darlings. after the upset of the Rams in 2001. Then back to back03-04. Kraft was a model Owner, BB was widely known as the best coach. And Brady was the sixth round pick turned Superstar. The Pats were known for having run the Classiest organization in pro Sports. But the Jelousy was mounting, whenever you win too much people turn on you. Spygate was a media Creation only because of the Pats success. The Media especially ESPN and the Haters from NY, Made a mountain out of a molehill.Now they want us to feel sorry for this classless Jerk Ryan. Why, because his Arrogant prediction of We are the team to be feared has not Panned out. I hate people who brag and boast at the expense of others, and then play the victem role.The media should be burying Ryan for not backing up his Claims. Instead they focus on How can we make the Pats look like the bad guys here.

I really don't understand the whole thing. Clearly, certain teams are media darlings, i.e. colts, the entire NFC east and anywhere bret farve plays.  If the colts had our SB record, we'd never hear the end of it.

The pats however, have never been on this "A" list. We have a star QB who probably the best looking player in the league, the best coach and the best owner. What gives?

Maybe it has to do with the fact that tommy would rather spend time on top of giselle than make taco bell commercials like jughead.

I think the media (and the nation) turned against the Pats once it was discovered they cheated for all those "glory years".  Now that they can't cheat as easily, they are more or less an average team with above average talent.

I am a Pats fan living in NJ, believe me no one feels sorry for Rex Ryan. He dug his own grave with his kiss the rings comments, Kerry Rhodes wanting to embarass the Pats in week 2 etc.. One thing I have learned is that in professional sports is good teams do their talking on the field, bad teams have to talk trash such as the Jets. In the end Rex Ryan will be remembered for Jenny Craig endorsements rather than his achievements as a head coach.
I agree guys like Peyton Manning can do no wrong, but who cares. Being hated means you have accomplished something!

The Press does not like the Patriots because the Patriots do not give a crap about what they, the press, think. If every team did as the Patriots did, ignore the press and their ridiculous opinions, Then the Press would no longer be required. They know this and it scares them..

Never believe what anyone else has to say about you. Know who you are. The Patriots know who they are.

The notion that the media -- and particularly those fun-loving wags at TMZSPN -- loves anyone who makes their job easier is spot on. The reason many aspiring journalists often start in sports is because everything has been done and said in sports umpty-thousand times. Finding an interesting hook and developing it into an engaging article is not easy. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick saying "We could have played better," and "We have some things to work on before  . . .    next week," no matter what happens in the game does not make for good copy and requires "journalists" to actually develop interviewing skills and learn how to write a proper story, which few can in this day and age. A guy who cries at the press conference or makes brash, outlandish statements he can never hope to back up has done the reporter's job for him. All he has to do with that guy is turn on his little tape machine, or point his camera at him and -- voila' -- his job is done.

Given a choice between having to earn what you get or simply being given free stuff for doing nothing, most people will tell you that they have pride and would rather earn their way in this world.

This is because most people are lying liars who lie.

If that were actually true, you would see much more interesting and accurate reportage than is currently offered on much of network and cable -- and don't even get me started on the blogoshpere.
