Things are pretty bad when the fan base begins to hold protests against the GM (Jeff Ireland): http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/20/dolphins-fans-stage-jeff-ireland-protest/
Apparently, the Miami zoo now holds Dolphins, too: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Miami-Dolphins-Jeff-Ireland-quarterback-mess-NFL-laughingstock-David-Garrard-Matt-Moore-George-Costanza-Jennifer-Lopez-032012
But, is there a method to their madness? Have the 'Fins learned something from the Indianapolis Colts? Will they tank away the 2012 season in hopes of landing USC quarterback Matt Barkley next year, with the #1 overall pick? -

Nice job, Parcells! LMAO
Come in, make a bunch of wild moves and then leave a pile of dung in your wake on the way out the door.
Classic Parcells. -

USC QBs seem to be awful in the pros with the exception of Palmer pre injury and post actually he's still servicable. I really wouldn't hand my hat on one all the the same! -

Plmer still stinks. He can't hit a receiver in stride if his life depended on it. Time to start trading the Fins for some future draft picks. -

The 'Fins appear to have made a conscious decision to tank this year. -

I'm dying for them to sign Tebow would love to have him in the division. I'm surprised Miami didn't go harder for Manning I thought for sure they would get him, they needed Manning way more than denver. Manning is/was basically the only thing that could have made Maimi relevant.
It all starts at the top they have a f#*k'd up owner that cares more about the paparazzi than football. -

It is chaos down here in South Fla. I can't even bring up football. They squirm and change the conversation to the sellout Miami Heat! -

Here's what will happen to Miami: They just collected some pretty good talent in recent drafts, especially on defense.
But, the constant schizo style of changing philisophies, not really committing to a QB and knee jerk moves like Brandon Marshall, Dansby and then Reggie Bush all reek of moves to get fannies in the seats, not strategic, long term building moves.
Huge mistakes. Not as quite as bad as the Jets, but close.
You gotta have your lines and base components laid down first v.s. signing flashy/sexy overpriced players (Dansby, Marshall and Bush).
In the end, they'll have all these invested young players that they won't have when they're ready to capitalize, which now appears years away. The Culpepper thing over Brees is really what started all of this. Then, Parcells choosing Sparano, his buddy and them not dealing with their QB issue.
We used to argue over who was better Henne or Sanchez, but really, what's the difference? -

Agreed that's way I can't believe they didn't sign Manning, he would have brought lots o fannies.
Disagree on Parcells though, thought he did a great job in NYG, Jets, Dallas and of course NE. The Jets and NE in particular were really irrelveant b4 the tuna came to town. -

Great coach, average at best GM. He never grasped the economic concepts and also would take wild chances on character risk type players at too high of a price.
Two no-nos in my book.
He had weak drafts overall in Dallas and with the Jets. Good thing he was overruled in 1996, otherwise we don't go to a SB that year with Terry Glenn and his 90 receptions.
In Miami, he did nothing He went in with his name, set things up and royally screwed them with some bad contracts and hiring his friends, Sparano.
What a mess down in Miami. Half their problem is their pathetic fanbase, where there is pressure to make trendy moves to get weak fanbases excited. Look at the Heat and now the Marlins.
It's all gimmick stuff. -

The mess that is the Miami Dolphins continues. In February, GM Jeff Ireland and owner Steve Ross vowed to 'Fin fans that they would bring in a better QB than Matt Moore. To date, they have not. But, will silly talk like this impact Moore, and the team?
After a horrendous 0-7 start, the Dolphins were 6-3 in their final 9 games. In addition, they really out-played both the Denver Broncos and NY Giants (on the road), and easily could have won these games. Moore was a big reason for the turn around. Here are his stats: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/11128/matt-moore
Moore has earned a chance to be the 'Fins starting QB. Nothing on the immediate horizon seems to be a better option. Miami owns the 8th overall pick this year. Rather than reaching for QB Ryan Tannehill of Texas A&M with that pick (in the event that Cleveland passes on Tannehill at #4), perhaps the 'Fins would be better served adding a weapon like WR Justin Blackmon or Michael Floyd, to replace the departed head-case, Brandon Marshall: http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2012/03/how-can-miami-dolphins-solve-this-qb-issue.html#more-16869 -

Does this mean there's plenty of tickets to Patriots/Fins when I go to FLA?
Jake Long. Now that Marshall is gone he is pretty much the only player worth anything (maybe Cam Wake when he's healthy).
Their main problem is that the Bills are looking better on paper and are making more intelligent moves for the long term.
The Jets are killing them in the big time media moves department.
Would anyone trade Wes back for 2nd and 4th (in 2013)? Doubt ye'll get a 1st. -

While most teams are optimistic as they head towards the draft, the Miami Dolphins are settling for trying to prove that they're not biggest joke in the NFL. Though they're not the comedy routine that the 1-15 'Fins of 2007 were under Cam Cameron, a/k/a Mr. Fail Fast First...made legendary in the Daunte's Inferno thread, in which the the trials of tribulations of 'Fins' QB Duante Culpepper were documented and celebrated (LOL!!!), they are steering in that direction: http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/27/2715954/miami-dolphins-not-the-biggest.html
In case some of you have forgotten, here is a video explaining why 2007 'Fins' head coach Cam Cameron was dubbed, "Mr. Fail Fast First", as Cameron discusses his coaching philosophy: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-preseason/09000d5d80154651/Cameron-Fail-Forward-Fast
Hard to believe that this guy was once an NFL head coach...LOL!!! -

The Tuna has a long rap sheet: Giants, Patriots, Jets, Cowboys, Miami. He comes to town and builds a team's victories up. Or, maybe he only goes to those towns that already have built a pretty good base for a team, and he just rides the wave up. Then the team has some 'almost' years. Then the Tuna up and leaves. Then invariably comes the crash.
Maybe Tuna's afraid of commitment. Maybe he wants out while the getting is good, because the team has nowhere to go but down. In any case, the organization that he built collapses without him. -

In Response to Re: The Dolphins Are a Mess!:In Response to Re: The Dolphins Are a Mess! : your ability to go out of ur way to attempt to diminish Parcells has really reached the point of inanity...and while I am sure you have some convoluted "logic" and "facts" both selective and out-of-context, we both know the score as we have already been through ad nauseum then again, if he turned around my organization and built the foundation of a dynastic run as well as the fact that the head coach, d and o cordinators of said dynastic run came from his coaching staff, and I didn't want to give him credit, I might feel the need to go out of my way to knock him

Agreed. Parcells doesn't get any credit from many Patriots fans for what he did for the franchise. The Patriots were a joke until he came in and turned the attitude and expectations of this franchise around. He left the team because Bob Kraft was at the time a meddlesome owner, who sided with his GM, Bobby Grier, over Mr. Bill on draft moves. This led to Parcells leaving for the Jets, and making his famous statement, "If they want you to cook the dinner they ought to at least let you shop for the groceries":"After a two-year hiatus, Parcells returned to the NFL in 1993 as the head coach for the New England Patriots. Within two years, he coached the team to a 10–6 record and its first playoff game in eight years. In 1996, he guided the Patriots to Super Bowl XXXI but lost to the Green Bay Packers, 35–21, in New Orleans.
Parcells left the Patriots after disagreements with owner Robert Kraft; Parcells felt he did not have enough input in player personnel decisions. Upon his departure, Parcells famously stated: "They want you to cook the dinner; at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries. Okay?" This was mainly in reference to an incident in the Patriots' war room during the 1996 Draft where Parcells, who wanted to draft a defensive player with their first-round choice, was vetoed by Kraft, and the Patriots selected Ohio State WR Terry Glenn": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Parcells
After Parcells left, the Pats began to fall apart again under the Bobby Grier watch. At that time, Kraft and Parcells mended fences, and Kraft worked out a deal to bring BB to New England: http://articles.nydailynews.com/2000-01-28/sports/18127081_1_parcells-and-kraft-jets-patriots
Apparently, Kraft learned something from his Parcells/Grier experience. He stopped meddling in personnel decisions, and turned the team completely over to BB. The rest is history.
Make no mistake about it...Parcells is at the root of the Patriots' decade of success. -
