OK. So they will have a top 5 defense. Top 10 Quarterback. Where does the Offense rank at? All of this ranking the team but yet no Super Bowl. The NY Jets are trying so dam hard to become the Patriots its not even funny. They just keep being the trolls of the big top circus thats all.

So, to sum up the Jets strategy at putting together a team this year:

Ground and Pound O: so do not address last year's the critical problems on the O line, do not get a second RB to keep Green from having to sit out a handful of games, address the problem of poor passing efficiency (required to make a ground and pound viable) by adding an even less efficient passer to the roster than the already woefully inefficient Sanchez (a top 10 in inefficiency!)

Dominating D: Address the Ds total inability to COVER TEs by getting safeties that hit but cant cover, address the Ds weak pass rush by betting all the chips on improving on a single rookie (at least they have a shot here), address lack of inside speed at LB by doing nothing to improve it

Team: address the dysfunctional team dynamics by getting a backup QB who will add to the controversy, let one of their CBs diss the WRs by claiming he is the 2nd best WR on the team in spite of never playing WR in the pros.

Final Cortland 11-on-11 stats for Jets QBs: Sanchez completed 52% of his passes. Tebow completed 43.9%. Both threw more INTs than TDs

    Tebow's final 11-on-11 numbers in camp: 61-139, 2 TDs, 3 INTs, 1 rushing TD

Re: The Jets......(A thread of laughs!)

    Sanchez, Tebow guide Jets

    nowhere vs. Giants

Gang Green's two-headed passing monster was far from a thing of beauty on Saturday night.

Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow were put on display -- warts and all -- by the Jets in a 26-3 loss to the Giants at MetLife. Rex Ryan and his quarterbacks would like to have this one back.

Sanchez leads offense into the abyss

The Jets plan a return to the ground this season. As the team's starting quarterback, Sanchez is being asked to manage games and avoid turnovers.

None of this happened with any success against the Giants. Six drives for Sanchez led to zero points, just 59 passing yards and a savaging by Big Blue's defensive line.

Coach Ryan talked about "self-inflicted wounds" at halftime, possibly a code word for left tackle Wayne Hunter, who gave up four sacks on the night. Giants linemen Jason Pierre-PaulOsi Umenyiora andJustin Tuck all got to Sanchez during a string of silent, fruitless marches for the Jets.

This offensive line is a concern, unable to protect the quarterback or hold its ground in short-yardage situations.

The Jets plodded into Giants territory late in the half, but the drive was cut short when Sanchez floated a pass to rookie defensive back Jayron Hosley, who returned it 77 yards for a touchdown and the 13-0 lead. Night over.

Tebow fails to pull them out

Tebow started the second half and delivered New York's first scoring drive on a 14-play, 68-yard march that chewed nearly nine minutes off the clock.

We saw good and bad. Tebow connected with rookie wideout Stephen Hill on his first pass of the night, but the pair later combined for a messy gaffe in Giants territory. On second and long, Tebow had Hill wide open in the end zone. With nobody in the zip code, he floated a pass that fluttered short, forcing Hill to leap forward for it. No dice. That's not a throw you see NFL quarterback's miss.

On the following series, Tebow sailed a pass into the flats that -- like a happy kite -- left the field and nearly pegged Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, huddled off to the side in a TV interview.

Tebow finished 5-for-14 passing for 69 yards. Incidentally, Antonio Cromartie failed to take an offensive snap and the game passed without a Wildcat sighting, but it's hard to imagine how those gimmicks alone will transform this offense come autumn. The breathless Tebow-Sanchez commentary that dogged us all spring and summer (and we're guilty of it) has brought us to this.

Maybe the Jets transform magically into an offensive terror when the calendar flips to September. Something darker feels more sure.

^ That really was a beatdown. I watched it and Sanchez got destroyed. 80 yard INT for td to close tge half...ouch. Tebow was running guys over but came up short on the wide open td opp!

I think Tebow is the starter by week 4.

Maybe, just maybe now the NY media will start spending an appropriate amount of time talking about the sole really good football team and organization in NY, the Giants...rather than continue to rehash the brewing Sanchez vs. Tebow QB controversy.

Nah...I doubt it. The NY media favors the train-wreck story, or a drama story, over reporting on the excellence of a world championship football team.
Of course, the train wreck I'm referring to will be the 2012 NY Jets' football season. The drama, the Sanchez/Tebow controversy, will persist until Tebow inevitably takes over at QB for the beleaguered Sanchez.

The best thing that could happen to Sanchez is for Tebow to take over, and lead the Jets to an 7-9/8-8 season. Perhaps then Sanchez will eventually be traded or released, and end up either in Seattle with his old college coach Pete Carroll...or take over at QB for the Raiders in Oakland.

You might be able to throw Buffalo into the good NY teams. Every 4 years it seems the Jests need to bite the big one to get a top 10 draft pick.

    As they say, two wrongs don't make a right . . .

Re: The Jets......(A thread of laughs!)

For three seasons the Jets have begged for the spotlight.  Begged for it.  Now that they've really got it, they have no idea how to play football.

When Rexy started running his mouth a few seasons ago, I was upset that the media didn't really eat him alive for it.  They played a decent season and because they went to the playoffs, the media let them off the hook.  Some outlets even applauded the newfound bravado.

But now they're reaping what they sowed for the past three seasons, and it's going to get ugly.  Media will take off the kid gloves this season.  Giants just made them look stupid.

Where are the Jets trolls?? They seem to have disappeared back into the wood-work in the aftermath of the 26-3 demolition at the hands of the NY Giants.

Thus far, the Jets' offense has been a joke. The old saying that when a team has two QBs, it means that they have no QB, appears to be true. Jets RT Wayne Hunter is a turnstyle. The Jets have no WRs, save for headcase Santonio Holmes. They also appear to have a pedestrian set of RBs:  http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/08/19/jets-offense-supplies-the-comedy/?ref=football; and http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/two_questions_no_answers_aoFnnYQRWfK
