    Tebow's brother happy to see Broncos lose January, 12, 2013

    JAN 12 11:37 PM ET

    By Matt Ehalt | ESPNNewYork.com

    The Tebow family still has some hard feelings for the  Denver Broncos

    After the Ravens ousted the Broncos in the playoffs on Saturday, Jets backup quarterback  Tim Tebow's older brother, Peter Tebow, tweeted: "Am I the only one in Denver who's happy right now?" The Broncos traded away Tebow last offseason after the first-round pick led them to a playoff win.

    While Tim Tebow doesn't play like a prototypical quarterback, he revived Denver last year, leading the team to the playoffs and ultimately an overtime win in the playoffs against the Steelers.

    The Broncos, though, didn't see Tebow as the answer at quarterback and shipped him off to the Jets last offseason while signing Manning to be their quarterback. While Manning led the Broncos to the top seed in the AFC, he couldn't garner a victory in the playoffs like Tebow had the previous year.

    After the game, Peter Tebow retweeted a comment saying: "'That's Karma, Elway.'--wife, Tebow-lover." The tweet was a shot at  John Elway, the former Broncos quarterback and current Executive Vice President of Football Operations who dumped Tebow for Manning.

    Peter Tebow also had an earlier tweet about Manning: "Did anyone else just see Payton Manning give the awkward turtle sign?!?" Manning completed 28 of 43 passes for three touchdowns but threw two costly interceptions, including one in the first overtime, and lost a fumble.

    Peter Tebow's twitter account is not verified, but Tim Tebow's verified account tweeted at his brother's account in June: "I want to wish my big brother @PeterTebow a happy birthday! Love you and hope to see you soon!" Tebow is listed on the Highline Community Church (Colo.) as a young adult pastor.

    Tim Tebow, meanwhile, enters an offseason not knowing what his future holds in the NFL. His initial season with the Jets was a disaster as the Wildcat package never got off the ground and he made more of a mark on special teams. He threw just eight passes and rushed 32 times for 102 yards as the Jets went 6-10 and missed the playoffs.

         Though the season is over, the laughs keep rolling in from Green Gotham. Be sure to read the fan comments to the cited article. They're an absolute scream!!:  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/28/jets-have-explored-jamarcus-russell/

         After having been smoothered with ridicule and stung by accompanying loud laughter, our favorite martians are now denying that they ever had any interest in JaMarcus Russell. But, their green nose is beginning to grow: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5339471

    Not true. I specifically heard from RKArp, Mt Hurl and Phat Rex, that the Jets job was a "dream job" and about the Jets doing their "due dilligence" in their hunt for the poor sap who will be absorbing that mess.

    C'mn Neal. You know Idzik is a good choice. Solid credentials, very smart (Duke guy, thought you would be slobbering all over him)..young enough to tackle the issues.

    To think this isnt a plum job you really have to admit you are not a fan of football, but simply a Pats homer who cant stand anything Jets.

    I cant open the link, but even you cant believe Rob Ryan was considered for the GM spot.

    Idzik has no real track record.  They had Jerry Angelo in for an interview. Nuff said.

    Regardless, saying the  Jets GM job is a "dream job" is like saying coaching under Al Davis or Jerry Jones is a dream coaching job. lmao

    I didnt say he had a track record, I said he had credentials.

    Funny, not only is the Jets job a dream job, but so is the Cowboys job....you need to wake up and learn the game, who the players are, and where the money is.

    Jets, Giants, Pats, Cowboys, Pitts, Ravens, Dolphins, Seatle, Texans are the best jobs in the league for money, exposure and career advancement.

    Browns, Chiefs, Bengals, Titans, Bucs, Raiders, Cards all have a hard time attracting executive talent...not simply GM....executive talent. I have spoken to many of the young guys at Gillette....they want to learn with the Pats, and advance their careers with one of the NY teams, the Cowboys and the Phins more than any of the other etams

    Jets cap mess illustrates gap between players

    Posted by Mike Florio on February 13, 2013, 7:56 PM EST Carolina Panthers v New York JetsGetty Images

    A flat salary cap is highlighting the gap between footballs haves and have-mores.  And the Jets current cap crunch shows just how bad the problem is.

    Albert Breer of NFL Network points out that 10 players account for $110 million under the Jets™ salary cap in 2013.  Per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, three men count for $38.3 million:  quarterback Mark Sanchez, receiver Santonio Holmes, and linebacker David Harris.

    The fact that the Jets can chop players or squeeze them into taking less underscores the fact that, in the NFL, long-term big-money deals may end up being neither.  But with Sanchez and Holmes each having guaranteed contracts for 2013, the Jets overall flexibility is limited.

    Now, now, Rocky. This is not what we're being told by Phat Rex, Mt Hurl and especially RKarp. Not only will the Jets easily get under the cap by 30 million in the next 2 weeks, they will be a very attractive FA landing spot this year and beyond as well.

    Afterall, the Jets GM role is a dream job.

    Re: The Jets......(A thread of laughs!)

         And the laughs just keep on rolling in, in Goblinville!! New Jets' OC Marty Mornigwig has said that not having an accurate QB is no big deal. This is the same guy who "led" the Detroit Lions to new lows as a head coach, destroyed the Philadelphia Eagles' offense last year, and once decided to take the wind rather than the ball in sudden death OT. He and Cam Cameron, a/k/a Mr. Fail Fast First...who failed fast as a head coach in Miami, and as an OC in Baltimore (the Ravens' went on a hot streak and won the SB last year, immediately after "Fail Fast" was replaced late last season) should team up!

         By making this silly statement, he in essence threw his confidence starved QB, Mark Sanchez, under the bus. Furthermore, if this were true, why not play the inaccurrate Tim Tebow? Mornigwig also went on to compare Sanhez to Brett Favre...LOL.

         Folks, you just can't make this stuff up! Here's the article. Be sure to read the comments beneath it for more laughs!!  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/08/mornhinweg-says-jets-can-get-by-without-an-accurate-quarterback/

         Apparently, Darrelle Revis isn't the only high profile player that they're having problems with. Now, the N.Y. Gliders are insisting that WR Santonio Holmes take a pay cut. Will they attempt to trade Holmes, too?:  http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/21215/will-holmes-take-a-pay-cut

         While the Patriots are conversing with the likes of Wes Welker and Aqib Talib, and the Dolphins contemplate whether they should break the bank for WR Mike Wallace, the Jets are hard at work...closing in on locking up 35 year old, UFA quarterback David Garrard:

         Query: Who do you think is looking forward the most to the 2013 N. Y. Jets football season? You be the judge:

    a.) Mark Sanchez;

    b.) Darrelle Revis;

    c.) Tim Tebow;

    d.) Santonio Holmes

    e.) Fireman Ed

    Tebow shows up at Jets complex before the sun Posted by Darin Gantt on April 15, 2013, 7:33 AM EDT CHINA-HEALTH-FLUGetty Images

    Tim Tebow wasn’t kidding about showing up at Jets offseason conditioning work with a great attitude.

    According to Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger, the extraneous quarterbackarrived early at  the Jets complex, showing up between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

    To be honest, anything else would have been a surprise, as Tebow’s trying to be gracious (if perhaps a little passive-aggressive) with a team that obviously doesn’t want him.

    Then again, dragging this Tebow storyline into another season only weighs down the Jets, who are eager for a clean slate in many respects this season.
