How awesome would it be if the Jet's had a year like they did in 1996. Anyone remember that? I remember the owner coming out in the press and saying, "I'm entitled to some enjoyment of the game. Meanwhile it was late October and the Jets didn't have their 1st win yet. Oh what a storied history the Jests have.

Today, the Jets reportedly gave struggling RT, Wayne Hunter, the day off. But, in order to simulate game conditions, Rex Ryan had a turnstyle installed at the RT spot, to replace him: http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8290844/struggling-new-york-jets-right-tackle-wayne-hunter-given-day-practice

The QB needy Jets are rumored to be working out a young, hot-shot  QB, who is isn't even out of high school. Still, this kid has shown so much potential, that Jets' GM Mike Tannebaum has reportedly offered him a 25 year, fully guaranteed deal. Kellers probably their best offensive player. He says that he'll be ready for week one but you never know with hamstrings. They're going to have the worst offense in the NFL.

This will probably be the greatest year for the Jets ever! With the way the offense has played in the preseason, they are bound to light the league on fire with touchdowns.

Well, their O looks like a joke. But their D looks pretty sound. When you have a good D things can happen in any one game. So while they do not look like a top 10 team overall they could shock in any one game. Don't take them for granted in any one week.

Re: The Jets......(A thread of laughs!)

Turnstile RT Wayne Hunter reportedly has been traded to the powerhouse St. Louis Rams. In return, the Jets get OT Jason Smith, who was the second player overall selected in the 2009 draft. Sounds good at first blush, but:

"From one turnstile to another. Like Hunter, Smith had been benched in St. Louis, and was on the roster bubble. The No. 2 pick of the 2009 draft will push undrafted free agent Austin Howard in New York, and likely become a part of the starting lineup at some point early in the year. Plagued by concussions, Smith appeared in only 29 games in three years for the Rams, and was a revolving door when he was in the lineup. He's not a major upgrade for the Jets' embattled offense. Hunter will back-up Barry Richardson in St. Louis.": http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/239223/jets-flip-rt-hunter-for-rams-bust-jason-smith

Geeesh Texpat ...your a bundle of laughs yourself ....LOL!  Keep up your good work!  Hunter came close to requiring a police escort in NY.

    here's two quotes from Ganggreen:

I'm being optimistic but so far things do not look good.

We're going to the ef'n(sic) superbowl. And we're going to kick everybody's rear. And we're going to do it the old-fashioned way, by talking about it and convincing other teams we're badarse. Why walk the walk when you can just talk the talk?

Note: had to edit the original words from Ganggreeen, they were that bad ....

Re: The Jets......(A thread of laughs!)

Yet more chuckles from the Green Gotham clowns:

"...Just four days after saying they were not trying to trade (RT Wayne)Hunter, the Jets sent him packing. A source said the Rams initiated the trade discussions. Hunter will be reunited with former Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer in St. Louis."

The addition of Smith for Hunter will cost the Jets an additional $1.55mil. this season in salary, and cap space:

"...Smith, the second overall pick in 2009, has been a bust for the Rams, losing his starting spot to Barry Richardson. The Jets added salary with the move. Smith is guaranteed $4 million this year, a high price for a backup lineman. Hunter’s deal was for $2.45 million. Concussions and other injuries have limited Smith to 29 games over three seasons."

That said, give the Jets high marks for compassion. They may have moved Hunter to prevent a lynching, at the hands of Fireman Ed and his brethren yahoos:

"According to two sources, Hunter screamed at some fans who were heckling him late in Sunday’s game. It got so bad, the sources said, teammate Vlad Ducasse had to restrain Hunter from going after the fans."
