The Luckiest Route to a Super Bowl Ever?

Everything has fallen into place remarkably:

Peyton Manning injured, perennial Patriot rival Colts fail to make postseason.

Patriots capitalize on easy schedule, win 1st round bye despite not being able to beat a team with a winning record in the season.

Perennial Patriot rival Steelers #1 defense stunned by lackluster Broncos.

Ravens drop game winning TD pass, then fail to hit 32 yard game tying FG.

Is this the luckiest route to a Super Bowl ever?

that's the spirit - we don't belong here, we need to find a reason to feel bad about this team.  Hopefully we lose the SB so it can justify all of our whining.  I don't know if I can go through off season without something to complain about.  I guess I can alway complain about the draft.  Also, none of our players are going to pro bowl - we are talentless.

No one is saying the win was illegitimate, but face it - the Ravens choked and handed the win to the Patriots.

All those in Patriot Haters Nation will only talk about "luck" as the reason the Pats are in the SB....  that's the way it is when you have blind hate!!!!

Ravens left a lot of plays on that field, and so did the Pats.  Are we lucky he missed it?  Yeah, but it wouldn't have won the game for them, just dragged the thing into OT where anything could have happened all over again.

    You make your own luck.

And Steelers = perennial Patriot victim in the playoffs.

Root for the Jets if you feel guilty. That way you'll never have to concern yourself with how you made it to the Super Bowl.

Every team that beat the Ravens this season had luck as a central factor.  And sometimes luck is better than skill.

The Pats are now on a 10 game win streak.  Thankfully they got the luck they needed.

There is no "guilt."  I'm thrilled they're going and believe they earned it.  But a hell of a lot of things that have tripped them up or challenged them in previous years in getting there is remarkably absent this year, that's all.

The Jets, Broncos, Raiders, Cowboys and Chargers would have had winning records if it were not for the Pats. The Pats beat some of these teams when they were playing great football. The Pats have earned this trip to the super bowl by playing their guts out every game. Virtually every win during this streak (except last week) has looked sloppy for long periods but they always get it done. While they may not be favoured in 2 weeks i would not bet against them.

It takes a certain amount of luck for any team to win a championship, no matter what the sport.

    Doesn't bother me at all.

    1.  The Clots were lucky Manning wasn't hurt previously.
    2.  The teams we played were desperate, and threw everything they had at us.  When was the last time you saw a fake punt in the first quarter?
3.Steelers were weak and would have been an easy pick off anyway.  That happens.
    4.  That pass wasn't DROPPED.  It was KNOCKED OUT.  Stop being a hater.
