The Pats should have won yesterday

Did anybody notice the red zone % yesterday. If we converted those 3 FG into 3 TD's or at least 2 TD's the game would have been over early. The Pats let the jets stay in the game. I am not impressed by the Jets. They are just lucky. The jets will finish 8-8 this year.

Give the jets their due.. They had as much to do with the Pats not scoring as the Pats did. But they won.. So tip your hat to them.. CLEARLY they wanted this more..

...but they didn't. The Jets D kept them off balance and did their job. Get over it. So what will the Patriots record be genious?

How, exactly, were they lucky? If anything, Pats are lucky they're not 0-2 thanks to the brain cramp of Buffalo's kick returner. Red zone stops in this game were a combination of both sides of the ball (probably, more due to the Jets, since Brady is usually terrific in these situations). Giants almost lost to Cowboys yesterday for displaying a similar ineptitude.

Huh?  Braincramp?  What are you talking about?  He was supposed to do that...they were up and were trying to run the clock out.....

He needed to fall down on the ball since he had NO blockers - the Bills were set-up for the on-side kick - the coaches should have told him to get to the 15 and drop BEFORE he got hit . . . he got stood up and stripped the same way the stood-up and stripped Washinton in yesterday's game - it was no accident, it was a Braincramp by Buffalo - they have had them before . . .

Re: The Pats should have won yesterday

Brady was off yesterday, period.  The Jets deserve credit for playing better.  Sanchez made the throws, Brady didn't.  I am not worried about this aspect longterm as Brady should return to form.

With that said, why is everyone so doom and gloom?  We lost a fairly close division game on the road vs a decent team.  The Jets wanted it, came in with a good gameplan, and executed better.

The biggest concern for me was the OL which looked mediocre at best.  I an beginning to think we may see Vollmer as a starter sometime soon.

Lastly, I thought the defense looked good overall considering Mayo being out, Merriweather out for a bit, and all the changes this year.

Exactly. Worse yet, if he didn't make a 2nd effort, he wouldn't have fumbled. If he would have downed the ball in the end zone, all Buffalo would have needed was a single 1st down and the game was over. Even if they went 3 and out, it would have been difficult for the Pats to win, although it would have been more likely with Brady than most (if not all) NFL QBs at the helm, since he was hot.

The silliest excuse any fan of any losing team can say is "IF WE JUST.."
"IF" the Jets would have scored three more touchdowns they would have won 37 to 9.
"IF" the Pats had the same team they had in their undefeated regular season, they would have won 56 to 9.
Let's take this loss for what it was: a one touchdown defeat in an away game against a division rival.

Re: The Pats should have won yesterday

The game should have been over at half time.  Sometimes when you are having your way with another team in the first half, there are few adjustments that you think are needed at half time.  The other side has to make a ton of adjustments.  In the seond half, the team that was being dominanted comes out like a completely different team while the winning team has made few adjustments.  This is what happened yesterday.

If the Pats had scored TDs in the first half, the Jets would have been so far behind, they would have had to become a one-dimensional passing team.  But because the game was still close, they could use their entire offense.

The Pats need to score TDs in the Red Zone.

How's THIS for verbal coincidence? I just read this excerpt from Shaughnessy's latest article:

Clearly, these are not the same old

    Patriots.

    They are one Leodis McKelvin

    brain cramp from being 0-2.

OMG, here come the hypotheticals amongst the steady bad play!  Connsider the fact that the Patriots do not look like a team worthy of being in the play-offs at this junction.  In fact, last year's team looked like a much better performer...and they did not even get in tournament.  Perhaps, what we have here is an average football team that is not playing well at all?

you are, no doubt, part of the same group of fools who said the giants shouldn't have won the super bowl. have you ever admitted that the patsie girls ever lost a game without making excuses?
