Digger...the pats had the ball last in 07 and last year. you can question if they had enough time, but they did have shots in both years and couldn't get it done.

    Yes, they did.
They had 1:30 to score in 2001.
They had 1:04 to score in 2003.
They had 0:57 to score in 2007.
They had 0:35 to score in 2012.

Looks like the magic number is 1:00. Or did Brady lose his clutch? :)

Actually, I think the texans provide the best case of how to build a defense. Look at what wade did to a decent group, and this is considering they let Mario Williams walk. They drafted players we all wanted to see the Pata get...watt, Barwin, reed, crick, merciless, eTc. We had shots to get any of these guys and passed. They are all either starters or contributing in a big way.

Manning wouldn't have had that rating if our offense didn't  act like morons on 3 key plays in the game.  The D allowed 1 TD and 2 FGs all game!

Have you noticed that the very dumb Pats fan on this board looks at box scores exclusively as their reasoning for something and either don't watch the games to see how a game progresses and they whys at to how something unfolded?

I agree, it is definitely better not to look at the box scores if you want to keep pretenting that the final TD the defense gave up never happened.  The defense giving up a nine-play, 88 yard drive in 2:49 at the end of the game is exactly the problem . . . it's giving up these big pass plays that kill us over and over, including last week in Seattle.  Make all the excuses for the secondary you want.  Try to deflect all the blame on Brady.  But until the secondary is fixed, the box scores are going to continue to tell a story you don't want to read . . .

No, no, no. Just like in SB 42, the "#1 offense barely eeking out 14 points or last week in Seattle with our "#1 offense" going 1/6 in the red zone is the root of the problem in an offensive era via Goodell.

2007 and 2012 are different groups of players on D, but what's the same on offense?

THAT is the story you don't want to read, Prolate. That is the story. And it hurts.  I agree it hurts. But mature people square up their problems and deal with them. The more Brady wants to ignore the fact he needs a run game to be the best QB he can be, the more we;ll see games like this, whether it's 2005, 2007, 2011 or last week.

In the 3 losses this year, NE's offense ignored establishing any kind of a run with one lead back (or two with same skill sets Ridley and Bolden). IN the 3 wins, they DID do that.

    2+2 = 5, right Prolate?

    D can't defend, RB's can't run and it's TB's fault, Right corkscrew?

Re: The Real Way to Rebuild your Defense on the Fly!

You are aware that the 23 points the Patriots scored against Seattle is the most any team has put up against them in the 7 games they played?  Only one other team cracked 20.

    ARI-20

    DAL-7

    GB-12

    STL-19

    CAR-12

    NE-23

    SF-13

Yep, the offense wasn't perfect, but it did better than any other offense has against this defense. Too bad our defense gave up the second most points of any team that's played Seattle.  Dallas allowed them 27, but they haven't scored more than 16 points in any of their other games except the New England game.
