THIS Just In!!! According to a Yahoo Investigative Report, Our own Vince Wilfork...

...Went to a bunch of really nice VIP parties while at The University of Miami, in which there are confirmed reports that he did NOT have to pay cover charge, AND some unconfirmed reports that some drinks might have been bought for him.  Not ONLY that, BUT- There was a "bounty system", such as there is in a great many high profile Football College Alumni events (that noone ever talks about...so, shhh)...Vince Wilfork was paid 1250 dollars, for doing nice hits/big-game hits, in not 1, but 2! college games.  NOT only ALL of THAT, but 7 years ago, some University of Miami Alumni guy that's now serving a 20 year jail sentence for a ponzi scheme, said that he gave Vince Wilfork a washer AND a dryer machine, FOR FREE...NO Charge (ILLEGAL) <there's an anonymous source about THIS transaction too...although noone has yet mentioned I don't think, whether or not if the washer/dryer was one'a those combo models, and/or some hot cool color, or seperate units altogether...we DO know, that it was both however (just unconfirmed, but not uncertain)>.  FINALLY (as if all this wasn't bad enough):  Vince Wilfork signed initially with this SAME sc#mbag Alumni Guy as his very 1st sport's agent, just prior to The NFL Draft, and THROUGH this alumni's false/shady sport's agency, He gave our OWN, Vince Wilfork, a $50,000 signing bonus- umm, those words don't look sketchy enough- He GAVE Wilfork, a $50,000 PAYOFF gift (for signing wit his agency)....BE-fore the draft, although we're not really sure when (a day, a week, a month, ?)...the point though is: Although this TOO, is just unconfirmed, It's STILL very illegal (according to the NCAA).

    The horror!! Oh the horror...

Give me a break. You know what's worse than all the crap that goes on illegally in college and the NFL? It's the people that actually think it shouldn't/doesn't happen. Wait, what's really worse is the agencies that investigate this stuff. Illegal? The fact that this sport is "played" at a college level, in which kids bring their financial institutions million upon millions of dollars - and not get paid themselves, should be what's illegal and investigated. Period.

. Chief is his feeling that after spending eight years forging what he thought were legitimate friendships with players, he was abandoned by many of the same Miami athletes he treated so well. He told Yahoo! Sports that following his incarceration, he asked multiple players for financial help – either with bail money, or assistance to individuals close to the booster. Shapiro admitted some of those inquiries included angry letters and phone calls to players whom he provided benefits.

“Some of those players – a lot of those players – we used to say we were a family,” Shapiro said. “Well, who do you go to for help when you need it? You go to your family. Why the hell wouldn’t I go to them?”

    LOL what a fkg loser!!!

Like this should shock anybody.  This happens most places I'm sure.  Anytime big money is involved stuff like this is going on.

The funny thing is it was so long ago.  Want to impress me with a story or investigative journalism, break the news while it is happening! Not 8 years or more down the road when someone is already locked up for crimes.

Gamer...too funny, because that's the exact part I had keyed onto as well.  Hold on, lemme see if I still got the cut/paste part exactly prior to the quote of yours...

"In 15 prison interviews with Yahoo! Sports and hundreds of telephone and email interactions, Shapiro laid out a multitude of reasons for blowing the whistle on his illicit booster activity. Shapiro admitted some of those inquiries included angry letters and phone calls to players whom he provided benefits."

E-yup...  What a riot lmao.  This guy was all about any combo of the following:

Helping out his own future and present state agenda, in terms of making The Miami Hurricanes basketball/football programs, THE best...thus increasing his own lofty place & status within the school, alumni, sport's booster circles (and extending his namesake outwards, as these programs grew; And lol, This is the MOST selfless, Most "moral" part of his overall motives...

Because along WITH this, There comes the all-important, and all-too-obvious, Aspects of Mulla:  That is, He gets these top players for The 'Canes program, w/ his shady support of money, items, airfare, trips, parties, prostitutes...you name it- And then Where are they (the players)?  A:  They're in debt to HIM and his Illegal fractions with-IN and Illegal to The NCAA's strict guidelines (even altogether minor ones, Like hosting some VIP party for a buncha stud football players at a local club (no prostitution/drugs, etc.. Free drinks, admission, etc), And thus- NOW these best of the better & better top recruits, the one's & greater numbers of whom are Pro Football worthy players... NOW are faced with the potential repercussions for ANY of their interactions from this guy (just goin' to a few cool-#ss nightclub, noncollege parties where they received, but shouldn't have-Free drinks, free admissions, even a free lift to and from these downtown, hotel, outside-of-campus events...  These things come to light, and a player just scr#wed himself in the NFL Draft (even by a few draft spots=Could cost that U of M star hundreds of thousands/Or second tier star, certain rumours could cost the guy being drafted at all).  So now, you're ready for The Draft (but don't wanna do a D#mn thing to screw it up), and reality hits home:  "Should I sign with this booster's sport's agency, or not?"  Well, within the NCAA infractions, even a freaking poor kid from the hood, gets a free plane ticket home on a school break in order to visit his family...even THIS guy gets slammed, major.  That Miami Draftee is left with little choice, but to keep everything flowing smoothly...or he could be just scr#wed.  Sad that it can and really is left w/ no other option BUT to let your at first, innocent & uncaring involvement with this booster, escalate higher & higher:  You follow a couple of vet Football Seniors to some sick College Club Party, that they're eggin' you on, the 18 year old freshman  from Nowhereville, small town dump, USA, into going to...Get free admission, free drinks, you simply don't know where that absurdly innocent first mistep WILL, and sorta HAS to, send you down the wrong path of debt involvement...
~"So VW...You gonna sign with my new sport's agency???? Hmmm...?"

This guy ain't even JUST in for ALL this...the financial, prestige, etc.. Those perhaps, Material rewards, that can somehow be weighed.  This guy's ALSO using these Football, Biggest of the Big-Men on a College Campus...for his own absurd, vicarious prestige.  5'5 guy that looks like a total Sean Astin reject, Is now a big man by just being amongst and around these OTHER big campus men...  F'ing loser is right.  Honestly...this guy's talkin' about prostitutes provided some players at his parties...Gotta wonder how many times THIS guy now got laid, when he otherwise NEVER EVER would have, by some U of M football fan College Girls at these parties.

IMO, NCAA is the biggest mafia in sports entertainment. They make millions of dollars on TV deals and they have a problem if a player accepts a gift from an angent. Why the fish should they care as long as the player is not doing anything illegal like selling drugs!

You won't see them here. It's pretty obvious why Sanchez and Carrol bolted USC when they did, the timing couldn't be more damning.

College sports are disgusting. Football ought to start a 'minor league' for people 18+, so all those dummies that have no interest in school can go elsewhere, make a little money, and the colleges can get back to actually having STUDENT athletes represent their schools as true amateurs, not hired mercs who don't go to class and get paid outside the rules anyway. But, the NFL has shown a total unwillingness to hold any of these players, coaches, or agents accountable. The leave school early to play in the NFL, abandon contracts to coach in the NFL, and sign and represent players without any recourse for the illegal dealings they are known to have done at the college level.

If the NFL wanted to help, coaches like Carrol, and Players like Bush should face league suspensions in the NFL for conduct deemed detrimental to the league. Money grubbing w h o r e s, all of them. Capitalism at it's finest yet again.

The NCAA could care less if a player's family was starving in a rusty old trailer. They're all about power and keeping themselves well paid. They don't even care if a player gets out of college unable to read as long as he draws TV ratings.

I was never a huge college football fan to begin with but they totally lost me a number of years ago.  This was right after I saw/read the investigation that revealed a couple of scholarship Cal players finished their 4 years of eligibility and were functionally illiterate - they couldn't read at a 3rd grade level.  If any institution deserves to be disolved it's the NCAA.

The money/booster thing is hardly a surprise.
