Thoughts on the Gillette "corporate logo" addition to the Pats uniforms?

    I think IT STINKS!

Come on, Mr Kraft, you need this advertising revenue like I need a hole in the head. Just because the NFL says you can do it doesn't mean you HAVE TO!!

I think its degrading both to the players and the organization. Everyone knows how these things work; in 5-10 years NFL uniforms will look like NASCAR drivers', plastered with BUDWIESER, WALMART and FORD TRUCK logos from head to toe.

I think its shameful for the NFL to stoop so low. They're not exactly hard up for revenue, are they?

    Calm down,

Only practice jerseys are allowed to have these corporate shenanigans under the new rules. Nothing to get too riled up about, they're already ugly to look at anyway. While somewhat distasteful this really doesn't offend me.

Now, if game day uniforms were to one day bear these same advertisements you and I would be very much in agreement.

Wouldn't it be at least kind of fun to see the TB12 Viagra jersey in a few years though? Just sayin...

That's true...however, that's how things get started. As soon as the hue and cry about wearing corporate logos to practice die down, then they'll start plotting and scheming as to when would be the best time to do it on game day jerseys.

The NFL, while not in dire straits by any means, has reached a point of maturation in the US market and is trying hard to find new ways to make money at a time where those options are increasingly limited - which is why they will continue to push hard in the global marketplace.

While it may be distasteful, I don't see a big problem. As long as we can still see the numbers it's alright by me. The league is so commercialized already. And the more money Kraft makes means the more he can spend on the facilities like the training rooms and such. I also doubt too many would object if it stopped (or at least delayed) any increase in ticket prices!

I can admire a man with a positive outlook, but I feel fairly confident in guaranteeing that this is not anywhere in the plan.
