All the gloom and doomers are suddenly cheerleaders and homers ... until the next time the Pats trail in a game. -

Wondering where all the Brace is a bust, Chung is a bust, Wilhite can't play, this D sucs posters are? I know the season is young, but I haven't seen anything that suggests any of the aforementioned are true. I guess we'll see since there are plenty of games left, but there are a lot of positives to take from this game. -

Hey Trolls, one thing we had was pressure on Palmer today. With a little bit
of time there should be some knockdowns, and maybe some sacks, but first we need to show we are coming, unlike last year were wondering if there was much pressure at all.
So there seems to be improvement and also, when we gave up the 14 pts in the 3rd, and we got the ball back at the start of the 4th, last years team would have gone 3 and out or right for the juggular and either turn it over or just get the FG and the D would get no rest.
Today Brady blended some nice runs with short passes, used up 8 minutes on the clock, got the TD and the game essentially was over. We all knew that the Bengals were to good offensively not to make a run, and that drive ate up too much time. Not doing this last year was the main reason we lost the game to the Colts, our offense kept giving him the ball back way to fast, and eventually Peyton got hot, as most good QBs will do if you can't keep them off the field.
We aren't there yet, and it is why we play the games, so we will jell more as a team by years end and get the big one! -

Cable's, you are so right, even when the D looked a bit out of sink, they never let anybody get wide open, seemed to make the hit more so than last right as the ball was caught or shortly after. Not many busted plays on the D. The D has a long way to go, as does the offense, and there is definitley talent there. They seemed to always have pressure on the pass rush, and with a little luck, get to know each other better, and BB will start more complex plays to get some thru to hit the QB. Nothing like the past few years where there were to many games we had no pressure at all.
I am very excited that our D is showing some raw talent and a desire to play together as a team. -

Chung is a frickin SCUD missile. Play after play, I'm looking at him saying "whoa!!" he is just flying around nailing guys. McCourty was man sized also. The whole D is as fast, and as hard hitting as I thought. Didn't think they would be THIS together right away, though. WOW. -

Chung is my #2 performer after Brady today. He was nothing short of outstanding for a SS. Looked like Rodney part II out there. -

Shut up. We won in SD against a desperate team. I don't see Jet fans whining about winning on a Bullsh#t PI call and I certainly do hear Steelers fans whining about a ref fixed win today.

Posted by Tcal2Brilliant post Tcal2. That Jet win over Denver was ridiculous PI luck and the Steelers fumble ref win was pathetic -- still wins though, still count the same.It is what it is - you are what your record says you are. -

I don't know, BB won't have much time after winning the Super Bowl to work the offseason. The game has passed him by and all ... -

Both groups are clowns. Pre-season has zero correlation to the regular season outcome unless it's injury related.

13-2. And counting.

I stand by everything I stated before. I'm so glad that I was wrong on some aspects, but you can't say I was wrong about needing to upgrade our pass rush... This team has far exceeded my expectations, and now we all get to watch them in the playoffs! -

In Response to Re: To all the Gloom and Doomer's:Harvard should do a study on the psychology of those whose NFL season is about proving so-called gloomers, doomers, whiners, trolls wrong more than it is about the Patriots winning. Why is it SO important in your sports' personalities to spend SO MUCH time on this? Like the alcoholic and his booze. There's 8 pages of this. Pretty conclusive that there's some kind of obsession with looking for the "negative types." At least the "whiners" actually wear their hearts on their sleeves: by stressing or worrying about a team's shortcomings it is DEMONSTRATIVE evidence of support for the Patriots. Bandwagoners is a term freely used and misapplied to lots of folks here who have followed the team DECADES before 2001. Do not respond to this because I AM right.

I remember that Ram pre season game well. I remember thinking "wow, we have Brady and Belichick and our time is running out". I thought they would win 10 games because of those two guys alone. The schedule was a night mare and they have won some big big games this year!! I still fear the defense is going to bring an awesome season to a premature end and waste an outstanding effort by Brady and Belichick...I hope I'm wrong. I don't trust our defense to get off the field on 3rd downs and really I think if it weren't for Brady and the offense it would of killed us. Does it catch up with us in the playoffs? Maybe the cold weather will help us against other teams passing games, it should. When the weather neutralizes in Dallas (if we can get there) I hope our offense can explode and win it for us. Our pass rush is a problem, but it hasn't really hurt us. The D is ranked very poorly in a lot of the major categories, yet I think they are improving...but will it be enough. I wish we had one more impact player on the D's side, just one and I'd feel much more confident. -

Thanks Harley I needed that. Best asset's in the business.
mthurl, is there any fan of any team that feels confident they can stop us? We have already beaten all the top Defenses, making some look very silly. Brady and the Boys will dominate in the climate controlled confines of Dallas. -

We are as battle tested in the regular season this year as they come. We have taken on all of them and beaten them. Do the rookies on our team scare you a little heading into the post season? I worry or at least am a little concerned they will be really nervous, but they have played on Monday Nights, Sunday Nights and had all the hype games of the week in their pocket at this point...still it's the playoffs. -
