Seriously...a moat.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/tom-brady-crazy-mansion-cost-20-million-moat-024914957--nfl.html
Seems a waste to have a NON-drawbridge going to the front door.
Mounted cavalry? Not a problem.
Viking hordes? Try it!
Mongol raiders...or Oakland raiders for that matter? An afterthought.
Really, he's only missing one thing. If he can't procure an ACTUAL dragon, I saw one on Pawn Stars that is made of metal, and eats cars...I mean, how can he NOT have that thing?
And, to steal a suggestion from the comments on the article...all he needs now is some sharks with frikkin lasers on their heads!

This is the reason why not to get too worked up on sports or have any loyality to these players. Brady and Giesele are happy as can be in sunny cali. No reason for freezing Pats fans to take this loss that seriously.

Why not? They are both wealthy and have earned it in their respective fields; if they wish to indulge themselves so be it. What I care about is Brady, his health, his ability and his success on the field. More power to 'em.

Name a person who wouldn't indulge themselves like this if the money they had was that big? There are those that have, and many have "earned" it, and those that don't. I keep buying them lottery tickets with fingers crossed. (-;

Holy Moly! Tommy Boy is going to have to work the entire 2013 season to afford the note on that one. Poor guy is only going to have 2 mil left over for utilities & moat cleaning?

Gisele is worth 250 million according to Celebrity Net Worth while Tom is worth 100 million. It's good to be Tom Brady! Very good indeed!

It looks like it also is a green house as there are solar panels on the hill next to the home.
Seriously though 20Mil for a couple worth 350 to 400 mil is not as bad as some one who makes $100,000 a year purchasing a $300,000 home.
He!! thier home is at least paid for.
BTW they probably pay less in taxes than all of us on this forum put together.

I am sick & tires of seeing articles popping up on yahoo & such about their moat!
First off...THAT is NOT a moat!!! A moat goes completely around ones "castle" and there would be a need to have to completly transverse through or over water, oil/fire, acid, etc. to ever reach such castle, thus why the drawbridge was needed during midevil times. What they have designed into their home is a waiting pool/pond.
Secondly...as was mentioned when news of them starting to build their house surfaced, especially amist the horrible recession we were in (and starting to get out of) that they are doing more for the local economy & possible of the country. By building their house, there was millions of american dollars spent for labor, construction materials, etc. that wasn't being bought or jobs not being created. This was much better than just buying someone elses home & the only ones to profit from it was the realtors. Also, they made tremendous efforts to do things to help with the environment. Now that it is complete, they will be continuing to add to the local economy by needing laandscape work, pool maintenance, house maintenance, security, etc.
As for saying TB doesn't care about NE anymore & wants to hang out in CA all the time now. Are all of you forgetting that his son Jack (whom he has joint custody with BM) lives in CA most of the time & he wants to be as close to him as he can to spend the most time with him. Anyone who is or has lived with divorced parents or are divorced parents themselves and dealing with joint custody will understand that you (usually) want to live close to your children, especially since travel time (especially accross the country) reduces the time you get to spend with your child when it is your alloted time to spend with them.
