Hey - get with the program - Brady has a whole car load of new best buds after the draft and UDFAs
Seriously fun stuff here! Thanks,
He does funny stuff with this, no doubt, but Brady needs a bigger ride so he can let EVERY single WR and TE into his "car", so to speak.
Our buddy, TFB12, doesn't get that a big reason we've lost this games is because Brady didn't let more than 3 choice targets into his clubhouse.
BB has all but assured that won't be happening anymore.
Carry on. lmao
Brady passed to the guy he could count on most. Gronk hurt. Hernandez hurt. Edelman hurt. Lloyd had some issues. Welker solid! You tend to go to the most reliabel guy. If these new receivers don't get on the same page or are going in and out hurt, you can bet TFB will be targeting the most reliable one. The Pats offense heavily favors the slot receiver, if Amendola is that guy look for him to get those passes.
Hernandez and Edelman weren't hurt. Nor was Lloyd. Brady ignored the X position almost all year, which is what he's been doing for years now.
Do you know it's harder for our X and Z receivers to get open nowadays? And, it's not due to "getting separation", exclusively with age and all that.
It's because in the shotgun spread formation, it's EASIER to defend the perimeter, especially when you know you don't have to worry about playing the run as a CB or Safety. It's why no one since Moss has dictated that Z position. The X has been fine, even with Lloyd last year.
Brady is a much better QB with playaction, which is another reason not to abuse the shotgun spread formations. But, guess who was his best in the Y and in the shotgun? Wes Welker.
Don't expect Brady to be staring down 1-2 of his favorite targets anymore. There was a discussion at the end of the year, you can bank on that, and it probably had something to do with BB telling Brady that he's tweaking the offense a bit and that Brady needs to start surveying the field better than he has been, with the idea of upgrading the X and Z.
If everyone's grandmother can see this issue, then you can bet BB does.
Everyone knows Brady and Welker are tight friends, and it's hurt our offense.
These moves by BB are clear signals he wants Brady to change. So, he forced the changes.
Brady may or may not have thought by him restructuring it would mean keeping Welker and adding a big time FA WR or one high in the draft. But, BB one-upped Brady's wishes. He unloaded Welker, found a suitable replacement who can line up in every single spot and be effective (Welker could not), and they don't have to use a shotgun to get Amendola to be effective either.
Anyway, nice to see you coming around, because when BB jettisoned your binky over 2 months ago, you went completely off the rails not wanting to understand why BB did that.
You still selling wolf tickets I see.
This thread wasn't intended for this type of discussion so I'm not going to get into it with you in here.
