Torn ACL for Brandon Meriweather, season over

Former Patriot, so thought it would be of interest!

    per profootball talk...

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan just announced that safety Brandon Meriweather tore the ACL in his right knee yesterday, and would miss the rest of the season.

That’s less than 24 hours after Meriweather said he felt fine and that he could have returned to the game if the score wasn’t as lopsided as it was.

“It was more thinking about the future than me going back in there when we were already up by so much, and the defense was actually playing great,” Meriweather said, via the Washington Post.

Sunday was Meriweather’s first game for the Redskins, after missing the first nine with a sprained MCL and PCL in his left knee, and having his returned delayed by an odd collision in pre-game warmups with a teammate.

This guy's season was over ten minutes after he was drafted.

tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk...now that's just too bad. Now he can't take bad angles, freelance, tackle his own teamate, and pat himself on the back whenever he allows a first down completion.

Finally!  Now that he's out, BB is vindicated for wasting another high round pick and then cutting him during his rookie contract.  If only Butler would get hurt.

Despite the bad drafts and the free agent bust...the Pats are 7-3 and the Jets are 4-6!

Sorry, were you trying to point out that Tom Brady is a great QB?  No argument here.  In fact, the only people that don't feel that way seem to be the idiot patriot fans.

There's only about two people on this board that don't understand how great a QB Brady is and what he does for this team - don't lump everyone in with Rusty.

What's it like to face Brady twice a year? How does that feel? I can imagine it feels the same as when we used to have to face Marino or Elway...just this feeling like that unless we do everything absolutely perfectly, we won't win. And even then it may not be enough. That's got to be tough.

If Brady played for any other team we would probably hate him, LOL.
