I think they franchise Cassel, then use him to pick up some good draft picks which they'll then use to fill holes. The Pats have never really been keen on picking up high cost draftees. They'll use their leverage to pick up some proven players. If an FA comes up that fits the system, they may go for him after the Cassel deals play out.
