Off topic, but what NFL records do you guys think will never be broken. I'll name a couple. Favre- starts 298, starting every game from when he was 23-41. If you're not starting at 23 in the NFL you're already too far behind. Brady- 5 TD passes in one quarter. How? 5 in a game is a career game. Unless quarters become 60 minutes long this one will be in the books for awhile. -

Happy thanks giving Dude. It sounds like you're over seas so hopefully you'll get to enjoy it and watch a game or 2.
The Only record I think will never be equalled or broken is Favre's Consecutive start record. That's absolutely amazing. Most quartebacks will never have a shot and combine that with staying relatively healthy or being able to compete with injuries and I don't think it's possible. Or maybe we can beef up the number of posts by saying I think Tebow will break it.

Yeah, when you look at, Jerry Rice is so far ahead of everyone, it is unreal. Even all time greats like Moss, Gonzo, and Isaac Bruce don't even come close to being close. Favre's starts streak will stand forever, drama queen he may be, but a tough one. -

Any record that was created by a human can, at least, be matched by another human. That is simple logic. After all, if one player did it then he has already proven that it is possible to be done. Now, is it extremely unlikely that any particular record will be broken. Yes, I agree to that about Favre's record. However, it IS possible to be broken. -

1. 1978, Patriots rushed for a record 3,165 yards, no one else has come close.
2. Brady's 340 straight pass attempts without an INT.
3. 4 INT's by Brady for a whole season, will be hard to better that in this age of pass happy football.
4. 50 TD passes in one season, again by Brady. -

Rodgers has 33 TDs after 11 games, which is on pace for 48. It's certainly possible but definitely not a given. -

Brady and Belichicks Qb/Coach wins record. In 5 years when they both retire it should be pretty large. -

Rodgers won't beat it this year, but 50 TD passes will fall eventually, due to the pass happy nature of the league. His INT streak will probably last for decades, all it takes is one unlucky tip off the hands of the receiver. -

Unless they lengthen the field beyond 100 yards the records for 99 yard runs and passes from scrimmage cannot be broken. -

Just saw a college record. Barry Sanders scored 39 Touchdowns in 1988. Nobody else has done more than 32. That could be a tough record to break. -

Don Shula's 347 wins as HC is pretty close to untouchtable in the category of Nolan Ryan's Ks or Cy Young's wins. Yeah, theoretically it's possible, but the game has changed to the point where it's practically impossible. BB is the active leader with 169 (Shanahan has 156), so he only needs to win as many games as he has already won, plus 9.
Nobody else is even remotely worth discussing.

Posted by shenaniganBrady may break that 5 in a quarter against the Clots. There appears to be NO humiliation that team will not put up with in order to be able to draft Luck. Sad. -

These are beatable but unless the game changes dramatically and reverts to the run, they will last awhile: Two players of whom many love to dislike.
Larry Johnson: Holds the all-time NFL record for single season rushing attempts (416)
LaDainian Tomlinson: He became the fastest player ever to score 100 touchdowns (P&R). On November 19, 2006, Tomlinson accomplished the milestone in 89 games with 102, beating the previous record of 93 games held by Jim Brown and Emmitt Smith.
and The great Barry Sanders...
Barry Sanders: 15 career touchdown runs of 50 yards or more, most in NFL history. Brown is second with 12.
Have a great game day .... -

We'll see if the weather and the accumulation of film makes it harder for Rodgers, Brady, and Brees to break Marino's 5084 passing yards record
Marshall Faulk's 2500 total yards from scrimmage is also under fire from Matt Forte (Fred Jackson had a chance too before he got hurt)
Eric Dickerson's 2081 rushing yards is very difficult. I've seen two players go into the final game of the season within 100 yards (Shaun Alexander and Jamal Lewis) and come up short. Tough record
But, in my humble opinion, the hardest record to break will be the 1976 Patriots' single-season rushing record of 3000+++ yards (done in FOURTEEN games). -

Posted by PatsRfineIn09You'd have to qualify that with something, like 4 INT's for a QB that has started all 16 games of the season or has thrown at least 300 passes, something like that.Tebow might break the 4 interception record this season, but he started playing in week 7 and attempts 15 passes a game. Not really a fair comparison.
