    Wee 13 Power Ratings

These power ratings measure each team’s ability to score points in a symmetric game, which is most of a football game.  I throw out asymmetric game scoring, of which 2/3 is ticky-tack scoring unrelated to winning.

I don’t have enough data to confidently say which teams play well in come-from-behind asymmetric games and which play the prevent well.  You can get a system for asymmetric games if you like.

Sorry for a total delay.  I was grieving over “Personal Foul”, a story of a basketball ref’s betting on games, his encounters with the mob, and how whole groups of basketball refs make fraudulent foul calls on their own initiative against specific players, teams and owners.  My opinion of NFL football as a sport is also considerably lowered because the bad NFL ref calls could indicate similar problems and corruption of the sport.

As always, the stats are blind to recent injuries.

Yes, New England is quite high for its win-loss record.

    Re: Wee 13 Power Ratings

No matter how bad a Sunday might be, your rankings always bring a smile to my face.

Maybe you shoud run the stats again.  As impressive as this win was, I am surprised we couldn't climb back to No 1.  Hey, the Saints missed an extra point - that should have killed their ranking.  At least we are still ahead of the Colts.

    Keep it up PK.

Good to see that Paul is back with his opinions again.  The Pats are #2??  Paul, you never cease to amaze me.  I figured that Miami would be #1 with last weeks win.
