    1.) Baltimore Ravens (+1.5) @ Pittsburgh Steelers: I’m trying to find a reason to go with BAL. They haven’t played with PIT well with Flacco at the helm at all. BAL lost to CLE last week @ home. PIT 16-10 PICK: Steelers;

    2.) Denver Broncos (+6.5) @ Tennessee Titans: The Broncos are serving youth, unfortunately that takes a couple years to take. PICK: Titans;

    3.) Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns (+3): After playing a good game at BAL last week, can CLE do it 2 in a row? no PICK: Bengals;

    4.) Detroit Lions (+14.5) @ Green Bay Packers: The Packs lack of a running game will keep this close. Unless the D scores 1 or 2.  PICK: Lions;

    5.) Carolina Panthers (+13.5) @ New Orleans Saints: Rookie QB @ the dome, sorry TEX, nope. PICK: Saints;

    6.) San Francisco 49ers (+7) @ Atlanta Falcons: The dirty birds are on a roll, the 9ers are not. PICK: Falcons;

    7.) Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams (+1): The Hawks have very good LBs, should help with a short passing game and against the run by STL. The Hawks looked average last week and were lucky to win. Two special teams TDs made the game as well as 5 turnovers. 1 point, I say Seattle   PICK: Hawks;

    8.) New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills (+5.5): The Bills need to get the ball to Spiller more in the running attack. 2 average defenses ranked 20th &22nd respectively. Both teams D give up more than 50% on 3rd down conversions, not good. Miami didn’t look good last week to me, with Henne missing a lot. Fitz was 20-27, last week. If BUF doesn’t turn the ball over, they’ll cover. May even win. The Jest are a New Jersey pipe dream.  PICK: Bills;

    9.) Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars (+8.5): Jags give me no reason. Del Rio gets canned for a lack of offense after this year.
    PICK: Colts;

    10.) Houston Texans @ Oakland Raiders (+3) I can’t go with Oakland. The Texans offense is too good for Oakland to match the output. PICK: Texans;

    11.) Arizona Cardinals (+8) @ San Diego Chargers: Couldn’t believe the highlights on Inside the NFL, I guess they like the Chargers as much as y’all do. Rivers set a Charger record for 455 passing yards. That game should’ve been a SD blowout. The Charger D is playing very well. Bolts will win the west. PICK: Chargers;

    12.) Washington Redskins (+6) @ Philadelphia Eagles: I hear Portis is in the Albert camp, not good. Eagles by 10:
    PICK: Eagles;

    13.) Chicago Bears (+4) @ New York Giants: Cutler actually thinks he’s one of the best. Makes me laugh PICK: Giants;

    14.) New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins (+1): Both these teams have weaknesses, the Pats upfront on D and Miami at QB. Other then that, good rosters on both teams. Giving up 30 to BUF is NOT a good sign, sorry.  PICK: Fish at home.

         Best Bets: Chargers, Colts, Falcons.

    What in the world are you talking about? Miami weak at Qb? He torched the Jets for 363 yards. They couldn't stop him unless they used that pathetic wildcat. Did you watch the game? That was Rex Ryan's worst defensive performance against any qb since he started coaching for the Jets. I think you're talking out of your you know what Jbolt.

    Henne got some yards. but, he was missing open receivers with the game on the line and throughout. He had Hartline wide open on a fly pattern and over threw.  as well as others. Your QB aint that good, sorry.

    Perfect - interestingly, Paul's model last year didn't even include scores in the 4th quarter until everyone told him he was off his rocker.  Now he is not only including it he is weighting it substantially based on what a team does in the last 2 minutes.

    Paul system has a name.  Its called  "WORK IN PROGRESS - NOT FOR USE"

    Ok, your logic really makes sense. He missed a long pass on the first play of the game so  he stinks. What "aint that good" is your football analysis. Manning, Brady, and other Qb's who have missed an open reciever 50 yards down the field "aint that good". I guess the other 363 yards he threw for "aint that good". No other qb has thrown for more yards against that Rex Ryan defense but it still "aint that good" to you because you "aint too smart".

    [QUOTE]In Response to Re: WEEK 4 NFL PICKS and "Game of the Week" : The Pats are a legitimate Super Bowl contender simply because they're loaded to the gills with young talent.  They've been playing against really good teams.  Cincinnati went off and beat Baltimore.  The Jets are good.   Buffalo is underrated -- they're about a 6-10 team.  The Dolphins are an 8-8 team, normally with a better-than normal home field advantage (pure heat!) which is partly blunted by playing the game on Monday night, maybe 80 degrees at game time but no sun on the field, and partly blunted by the Patriots practicing in record summer heat and having one away practice in Atlanta.  I expect the defense to be imperceptably better this week than last week, gradually building into a top ten but not a top five defense by January.  That's all Brady and friends need from a defense.

    [QUOTE]In Response to Re: WEEK 4 NFL PICKS and "Game of the Week" : My numbers don't care what Miami's problems are, nor do they care whether people think Indy, New England or Miami might be a contender.  Miami dropped to an 8.2 rating because they gave up 7 more points with just under 2 minutes remaining, and then they needed 8 points fast.  New York then played prevent versus 8 points.  Miami sitting on the Jets' 11 yard line was kind of close, but it's pretty hard pushing that last 10 yards when the field is so short so Miami was still a ways off from step 1 toward victory.  Step 2 woulda shoulda been the 2 point conversion which is not guaranteed.  Step 3 woulda shoulda been overtime.  I don't count any woulda shouldas.  I count losing in front of the home crowd by 8 points.

    [QUOTE]In Response to Re: WEEK 4 NFL PICKS and "Game of the Week" : This straight average from the special teamers to the punter doesn't factor who is key to the team.  Patriots regularly bring in mentor players way over 30 who can sort of play but they aren't the team's future.  I look at the rookies and the second years, and then guesstimate how much playing time they're going to have after about 3 months have passed.  I see half the starting team as fresh-faced, especially at linebacker, defensive backfield, tight end, wide receiver and punter, but with only a couple of new linemen.  If Indy is pulling along a huge number of bench-warming developing better-than-nothing young UFA or late-round JAGs, so what?  They're only for emergencies.

We all know you hate Miami but you can't be that lacking in the brain department. If Miami went 8-0 to start he season you would say they are an 8-8 team. Miami has it's problems but they are a contender. The Patriots defense to this point has been horrendous. Yes they do have Tom Brady but just like they showed against the Jets if they don't fix that defense and fast they won't make the playoffs. Brady is obviously a great Qb and a HOFamer but his margin of error will diminish each week if you can't run the ball or stop anybody.
