    Weis -guy will be missed

Anyone remember this thread ...?  written in 2005 after 3of4 SB ...

All this debate about OC philosophy made me realize that the past 7years "experiment with the offense" including secret  OC's... OC by committee ...  the McDaniel  fiasco ... More committee ... and now O'Brien... .   well...

The name Weis keeps coming up since every thing BB has tried has eventually become predictable and defenses adjusted.

Only Weis was experienced enough and savvy enough to adjust in real time during games  to keep the pats on top...to see what the opposing D was doing and have the correct answer ... To win strategically  as opposed to pure outscoring.

An example was in Weis' last game SB xxxix, he made halftime adjustments and called 2 screens to Dillon that they had not run before with great success .  It was totally unpredictable ...

Of course the result being the eagles backed up, leas sure of themselves , not sure what was coming next . Patriots win.

Unpredictability ... Knowing when a play will work and setting it up strategically then having the ability to call it.

The other hidden task is having your team on the  same page to execute .  Another area where it seems Weis was superior to anything since , since he got it done with apparently less talent .

It's a complicated game . Hopefully our people are smart enough to figure it out .

Charlie and Romeo won super bowls while here so they will always be looked at fondly but as Mighty so eloquently put it, it's time to move on.

Yep. BB should've got him back here. Now he's getting KC's defense better.

Apparently mighty was not old enough in 2005 to offer any intelligent commentary.

Dude ...  "discussion" board.  99% of the posts on this board are about past events.  If you want everyone to "move on" you've got a lot of baby pictures to post.

Price is on the injury report. Brandon Tate has a TD today for Houston. Where's Moss?

That's what they said on TV but it was Ben Tate. Brandon Tate is in Cinci, he hasn't caught jack as a WR but he had a return for a TD last week and was named the ST player of the week in the AFC.

The same as yourself ...  I post on this board.

The pats are 5-2, but should be 6-1.  They lost in buffalo because of reasons outlined in this thread and others discussing OC philosophy.

    Still a huge fan though ...  ;)
