The way Kraft is talking and the rest of the league sources I don't doubt he is. My guess is Wes has a number and the Pats have a number and said see what you can get and come talk to us after and the Pats trongly believe that what he could get on the open market is less then what he's asking for so he'll end up back here

Reading my mind....I too took it negativly when Kraft spoke today...he did not sound like someone who was sure Welker was staying and his statement may well be PR related so he can say to the fans later Hey we wanted him..... -
