What does it mean that Eli's q-rating is so much higher than TB's?

Couldn't believe it when I heard that Eli's q-rating (measure of popularity and likeability) is at a high of 19 and TB's at a very average (for athletes) at 15. It seems fans find Eli to be more relatable and what not.

Exactly the kind of stupid, meaningless drivel that you post every day.

it says that outside of new england people don't care for the patriots because they are jealous of them being a very good team every year.

Because your boy has only played at this level for one year. Before this year he's been a just a decent QB. Before this year , his wrs made him. When its the other way around in terms of being an elite QB. Just to take that point a bit further , Brady is an all time great QB. Again Eli has been a slightly above average QB for the majority of his career. Win , lose or draw , Brady is a top 5 all time great.

houston, i believe we have solved the real issue! clearly its not because of just football. even if you believe the spygate hype, what did tb directly have to do with it? cearly his continued greatness has nothing to do witth cheating. i think the real envy is gissy, his looks, background, reputation and having a life most can never even dream of. real envy here. eli and peyton are both actually more privileged in their background BUT they present themselves as more blue collar, regular and average. certainly their faces do. tb comes across as an aristocrat. kind of like the same reason teabagg republicans hate romney so much but look at a pampared doughboyy in newt as more "one of them".  ENVY!

Well for one, TB has been fully embraced by his team's fan base for 10 years while Eli has only been the Giants fans favorite for the last 10 weeks.

Most of the country accepted Eli as a top notch QB long ago.  Only Giants fans and the Onion have felt otherwise

    Not true in my case.

I've been an Eli fan since Day 1, and felt completely vindicated on that glorious day four years ago when he was the Super Bowl 42 MVP, putting Tom Brady and the undefeated Patriots in their place.

Let's get serious here. The rest of the country did not accept Eli as a top notch QB a while ago. In fact, most of the country laughed at the beginning of the year when Eli said he was an elite QB. This season is the first full season where he has been reliable and they still only ended up 9-7. The best thing that can be said about Eli is that he really didn't pull any Romos during the season like he normally does. (yeah, you remember the play where he kept dropping back, then ran back, then slid and fumbled the ball - that kind of play) He has played well in this post season, but still is not elite by any stretch.

Eli Manning is to QBs what the Spin Doctors were to garage rock.

Re: What does it mean that Eli's q-rating is so much higher than TB's?

Eli had 29 TDs and 16 ints this year, TB had 39 and 12. For their career, in 121 games Eli has 185 Tds and 121 ints (1.5 TD/Int ratio) and 1 Super Bowl, while TB in 161 games has 300 TDs and 115 ints (2.6 TD/Int ratio) and has 3 Super Bowls. So in the next 2.5 seasons (40 games), Eli would have to throw for 115 TDs and -6 ints to be even with Tom. If the media wants to make him out to be something he is NOT, there is not much us non-media types can do but post here to dispell the myth.

It means some statistician had too much time on his hands and liked a below average QB that hadn't won anything close to a superbowl. So he/she came up with a rating system that would make the QB he liked look above average!

Brady was a great qb, but let's face it, he's been living off his reputation the past few seasons.

He hasn't been the same since Eli schooled him in Supe 42.

If it weren't for the fact that he got to go against two offensively challenged teams in the playoffs, he probably wouldn't even be here now.
