The Bills greatest years were with Kelly.
The Dolphins greatest years were with Marino/Griese.
The jets greatest years were with Namath.
But they all get these stiffs and stick with them for years trying to figure out what the rest of the world knows long before; they don't have it.
These are supposed to be great football people and they make the most obvious dumb choices one can imagine. The expect they are going to find an elite QB in the 2nd round or trade for something from somebody else's scrap heap. Did anybody with a brain think Sanchez was going to get good after 2010? Does anybody with a brain think that Tannehill is the next Montana fairly well into his second season? Did anybody with a brain think Holcomb, Losman, Fitzy or Manuel is going to bring the Bills to the promised land?
Greatness shows itself pretty quickly in the NFL. These teams look in all the wrong places or wait too long to cut bait. There is no excuse for going well over a decade to find that solid franchise QB every team needs to get in the mix.
You have to have one hell of a "rest of the team" to make up for a mediocre to worse QB in this league.
