    whats's worse: 4th and 2 or 14-1?

many were whining when bill went for it and also many are whining about polian. i had no beef with 4th and 2. we are now enjoying the net benefits of that decision. i did not get 14-1 and never will evem if pats had somehow been the ones to mandate it.

    Re: whats's worse: 4th and 2 or 14-1?

It is the way 14 - 1 was attained.  When the Pats went 18 - 1, it took the game of a lifetime of their opponent to pin that "1" after the 18.  It happens.  In the case of the Colts, there was no effort to keep the 0 after the 14.  There was no "it happens" and their opponent was not playing the game of their lifetime.  4th and 2 is a decision meant to WIN a game.  Making player substitutions with a slim lead and then not making efforts to come from behind to win a game is throwing in the towel.  You can never lament when you can say "we tried our best and it wasn't meant to be", versus "it wasn't important to pursue" because after that you will always wonder, thinking.." what if we did try?"

    Is this question for real?

4th and 2 kinda calls are made all the time.

Going for history, is well, umm, going for history and the opportunity does not come around very often.

4-2, bad decision, but we tried and failed. We didn't get slapped in the face by a gutless organization.
