Yep, it was a tough game.   Looks like a great D is the way to go.  Great D's shut down even the best offense in the history of the NFL.

Best O in the history of the NFL? I dont think so. On a stat sheet yeah, but like Gomer knows all too well, stats dont win Super Bowls. The greatest O of all time was SF's west coast offense from 84-94. Not just one good year, but over a decade of dominance.

Sorry, idiot patsie fans don't get to make up records as they see fit.  Top scoring offense of all time.  Deal with it.

    1. FYI, Ive been Niners fan for over 20 years, I happen to like NE too.

    2. The "best offense of all time" doesnt get plastered 43-8 in the Super Bowl.

    3. Your offense just got plastered 43-8 in the Super Bowl.

    4. We all know youd trade your "top scoring offense" for that silver trophy.

    5. Deal with it.

Perfect. The Pats didn't get smoked by the Giants. Neither time, and definitely not in 2007. Peyton got exposed (as if he wasn't already) for what he is. Front runner, but prone to historic bad decisions (2 pick 6s). The debate continues for some, deluded that they may be. Sad, really.

Which Giants team had the best D in the NFL BY FAR.

    1. Peyton has choked many times against lesser defenses.

    2. Was the Seattle defense 10X better than either of those NY defenses? Because you just lost by almost 10X the amount of points the Pats did.

    3. Dude, go back to your bottle and drown your sorrows. Youre not gaining a whole lot of ground here tonight.

He Mile High... loved that BIG TIME choke by Manning. He sure has that one down. Throwing those 2 big time picks. Scoring all of 8 (EIGHT) points!

Did you know that the Seattle D outscored Manning and that great Offense?

Their special teams scored as many TDs as Manning and friends...

How about that Countdown to Meltdown Mike?

Denver didnt just lose... they got BLOWN out. The Pats took leads in their SB loses and lost only at the very end. Manning and the Broncos got clocked. They choked and got clocked in a HUGE blow out....

    What a meltdown...

Tough loss.   A great job by Seattle and their top ranked D.  AS we see time and time again, great D's shut down great Os.

Ha ha ha ha .. batted passes... how about the TWO picks... two picks with the game on the line.. BOth on Manning.. all on manning... no one else.. He has done this before.. we all have seen it.. like when we did it to him several years ago.. He was horrible this time... like he was horrible when we killed him....

Manning proves he is nothing special when playing a reallly good D... or when the weather gets too chilly for his teddy bear...

Yup. Denvor got killed in every way. But Manning choked BIG TIME early on with the game on the line... two big time picks.... and nothing else going on... he had nothing... nothing...

Denver was horrible.. but before they were all horrible Manning was literally throwing the game away with his chokes...

Manning is a fantasy football QB....

Manning really put Denver in the hole. It's one thing to throw INTs when you are forced into passing situations and behind ... it's another to come out throwing them in the beginning of the game.

Seattle's offense wasn't doing much. 16 points were on Manning's two pick-sixes, and the "Omaha" safety.

It was a complete meltdown on his part, and it basically ended any chance Denver had at competing for the rest of the game.

Yeah, Seattle came out firing in the second half with a couple solid drives for TDs and a KR TD, but none of it mattered, and the scoring came when Denver was stacking in to stop them from running the clock out.

Seattle wasn't even that smothering. Manning just spit the bit.

Brady has never played that badly in a Super Bowl. Nor has he ever thrown two pick 6es in a post season game or Super Bowl.

Granted, he's had some of the issues Manning had today, but not nearly to the same degree. Brady would not have folded that badly.

That said I will say Manning was an absolute class act after the game.

Are you surprised by the usual reply by our board jester? The thread could be about the waterboy, and that nimrod would find a way to push his "Brady sucks" agenda.

If last nights game doesn't prove that a killer defense isn't crucial, I don't know what does.

It's just rediculous!  After last nights game, more then ever, attention is on defenses like never before.  And here Rusty is trying to deflect the attention and put it on the offense.   LMAO!!  The fact is, the Pats offense didn't have many weapons this season and the defense... well lets just say if it is going to take a defense like Seattle to win SB then BB better start making some changes now, he has a long ways to go and this team might not ever see another SB ring.

It's not going to appear this way, but Denver's defense actually played fairly well. They held Lynch in check, held Seattle to field goals despite terrible field position (thanks to PM) and really didn't give up much all game, at least until it was out of hand. They did give up a lot of 3rd down conversions, but those were some nice throws by Wilson and nice grabs by the receivers.

This loss was squarely on the record-setting offense (special teams didn't help either).

Wilson, by the way, was impressive. Did what he had to, wasn't asked to do too much and made zero mistakes.
