Who will be the first active QB to be selected into the Hall of Fame

There is no doubt that both Manning, Brady and Favre will make it to the Hall of Fame, but will the first. Don't forget about Warner, although he doesn't get the accolades his numbers and success certainly make him a likely first balloter. You would think Favre will retire first, but.... -

obviously... KURT WARNER! think he is done after this one... favre is done in 2 years. peyton would be next in about 3 or 4 years. brady likely will play til 38 to 40. brady's game transfers best to a long, productive career... brees should not be listed. if any of the others walked away NOW, they are in automatically and on the first ballot. mr. brees would NEVER get in as of now. chad pennington has a better shot with his overall career. same with kerry collins, although neither will ever get in! those 4 are pretty much it for now (this generation). do a poll about which generation of the young bucks likely to get in... can include sanchez, flacco, ryan, cassell (ummmm), tony romo, brees, rivers, eli.. good luk! -

Whoever retires first out of Warner, Manning, Favre, and Brady. I don't think Brees has done anywhere near enough. -

Favre is inducted first because he retires first. Then Al Davis talks him out of retirement to start for Oakland where he is reunited with head coach Eric Mangini. -

Maybe the question should be who retires first :-) -

Brett Favre will be elected to the hall of fame posthumously.
He'll never retire.
He's going to die on the field. -

Favre. Warner won't be a first ballot and Brady and Manning both have several more years left to play. -

Even if Warner retires before Favre, he may not be a first year HoF, while Favre will. Favre has a much more favorable body of work compared to Warner, but, Warner has that story of how he climbed to the pinnacle from his lowly beginnings as a QB. -

Who from that list will never get into the Hall?
Kurt Warner. Career statistics:
Career Passing Yards: ranked #32 with 29,454
Career Passing TDs: ranked #39 with 186
Career Passes Completed: ranked #34 with 2,407
At 37 and injury prone, he's not going to climb anywhere near the top of any of these catagories by the time Kurt is done playing. On Career Passing Yds alone there are 18 QBs above him that are NOT in the Hall of Fame (including Manning+Farve).
On the plus side, Warner's been to 3 SBs, winnng 1. OK.
Warner has a very good QB rating. #4 best Career QB Rating. But let's look at the Top 15:Rank Player (age), + - HOFer, Bold - Active Rate Years Teams 1. Steve Young+ 96.8 1985-1999 2TM 2. Peyton Manning (32) 95.1 1998-2009 clt 3. Tony Romo (28) 94.2 2004-2009 dal 4. Kurt Warner (37) 93.5 1998-2009 3TM 5. Tom Brady (31) 92.4 2000-2009 nwe Philip Rivers (27) 92.4 2004-2009 sdg 7. Joe Montana+ 92.3 1979-1994 2TM 8. Drew Brees (29) 90.1 2001-2009 2TM Chad Pennington (32) 90.1 2000-2009 2TM 10. Ben Roethlisberger (26) 89.4 2004-2009 pit 11. Daunte Culpepper (31) 89.0 1999-2008 4TM 12. Carson Palmer (29) 88.3 2004-2009 cin 13. Matt Schaub (27) 88.0 2004-2009 2TM 14. Jeff Garcia (38) 87.5 1999-2009 5TM 15. Jay Cutler (25) 87.0 2006-2009 2TM
QB Ranking is obviosly skewed to modern players. Chad Pennington, Tony Romo and Philip Rivers in the Top 10 of all time? F*ing Matt Schaub and Jay Culter in the Top 15? Throw it out!
How about the most important statistic for QBs: WINNING GAMES?
Career record as a starter for Kurt Warner: 58-46
58-46 is not Hall of Fame worthy. It would be by far the worst Winning record of any QB they let in the Hall. Warner had 3-4 very nice seasons as a pro, but that's it. Journeyman player other than that run.
Maybe if Warner can put up a couple of more big seasons, we can talk. But as of right now, NO WAY KURT WARNER GETS INTO THE NFL HALL OF FAME.
