Maybe the states could adopt a Parliamentary system.  The Prime Minister pretty much runs the show, as long as his party has the majority.  It makes for a much more efficient and effective government . . . but it does give the ruling party a lot of power.

Last few posts were really thought provoking and mercifully civil.  I was reading a magazine article a few weeks back and it discussed how Washington, Adams, and Jefferson were concerned that folks would stick to party lines at the expense of what the country really needed.  Geez, they must be rolling over in their graves.

Exactly.  They knew the risks, but still thought it was the best system, which it is. This is why it's important the people get it and demand the changes. It's not just "I am a Democrat and I am right so I can sleep at night" type of things either.  Same deal on the right.  Since the system is corrupted, sadly, your vote doesn't mean what it should. It's not about what you think is right, it's about what you can do to try to change what's wrong. At some point, showing up to vote may not totally be enough, which is what is sad. You have the founding fathers who were visionaries and meant well, the 1800s, where we saw the Whig Party disintegrated, the modern Democratic Party emerges, and then the old Republican Party, with very little strong leadership from the presidency, minus an Andrew Jackson or Abe Lincoln type scenario in the 19th Century. Look at every president, post Lincoln, pre Teddy Roosevelt and they were all essentially a puppet president.  Same deal, post Teddy Roosevelt, pre FDR, his cousin.  Woodrow Wilson was ok, but still not a great leader.  Decent, but not an elite leader. The facts are, we don't really see a string of strong presidents in a row.

Except one party likes centralized control through giant corporations and banks the other likes centralization through big federal government. They both like the special interests with the big $$$ though and sucking the middle class dry.

Essentially capitalism is dead...we are closer to the old Soveit union we suposedly defeated than anything else without the free education and health care.

Re: Who's on your ignore list?

Ignore list ..... Nobody ...Just The Kardashians...and all the rest of that nonsense.

In keeping with the current thread ....

"If ever a time should come, when 'vain and aspiring' men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." Samuel Adams: (1780)~(1722-1803)

RWTK...Woodrow Wilson? ... He sold the Country out on Christmas Eve when most of congress had gone home. The Bankers that evening, succeeded in passing the Federal Reserve Act with a bare minimum quorem of paid politicians and Wilson Gladly signed it into Law. Wilson a few years later made the statement ' I sold my own Country out that day'.

It was an UNConstitutional Act which still stands today, nobody dares to challenge now. JFK was the last one with Presidential order PO 11000 to disband the Federal Reserve.... Our Federal Deficit was only $650 Billion at that time and JFK had enough and called for its disolvement.

This same act of Treason was the result of all the Presidents, Abe Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, William McKinley, James Garfield, JFK who bitterly fought against the bankers and all had one other thing in common  'assasination'!

    Good post, thanks

Yes, We are headed to Socialism which we see now with the EU, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Portugal. Just about the total Population dependent upon the Government with the Hack pensions etc. Now the System is weak and the Governments want to reduce those same pensions, therefore the recent riots and instability in those Countries without a dynamic economic and industrial base.

I've been to Russia and spoke with the friendly folks and the average to lower class wish for the Older socialist system again. The So-called Capitalism has resulted in the top (caste) echelon succeeding along with the people with high connections, and the Crooked elements (Russian mafia), although it has resulted in job creation through no fault of its own, for now.

    Have a great game day....

They both like big government. It's a matter of a couple hundred billion they haggle over and we buy it hook line and sinker. Neither will ever tap the filthy rich hard. The dems may tap a handful of people making $200 grand or so, and throw the peanuts to the poor. It's a joke. And the jokes on us. Nearly half the country is low income these days. Meanwhile we print up trillions to bail out foreign banks and the inflation makes us poorer.

In a way your correct but that is not the issue in Current Russia. The current Russia models itself by the Capitalist system now. Russia has thier own oil - one of the worlds largest. They have their own farm land, livestocks, forests etc to survive.

Besides all that they do not outsource jobs by the millions to further supress the population as the USA does. They are not into hack job pensions with people sitting around all day doing nothing for a paycheck, that breaks the system with corrupt Unions backing them up and impossible to fire. The Russians do not destroy their own economy like the USA does on purpose for Greed for the top 2%. They no longer send their military to sacrifice for foolish wars that only benefit the Banksters that control the USA.

The Russians also duplicate the USA in selling military weapons to anyone around the world but they are not forced to share their Technology like we have to with the Chinese because of the Chinese Money that owns a good part of our Country. Long story!

If it was'nt for the Russians the North would have lost the Civil war to the South! Russia always was our best friend before the Bolshevik Revolution sponsored by the International Bankers to overthrow the Czar....Enter Lenin and Trotsky the Zionist Banksters approved murderers.

THESE things, they do not dare teach in schools in the USA.

    Have  a good game day....

Hello Shenanigan....not me...I love the Jews and have learned to speak and read Hebrew somewhat well. I love the Jews as all Christians should. Anti-semetism is a purposely made up word from the least you expect, the zionists themselves.

Anti-semetism was the harbinger of Political Correctness. Tyranny with manners!

The zionists care less about the real Jews. If you go to a real Orthodox Jewish site you will clearly see that they are offended by the power monger zionists. The Arab problem is not with the Jews but with the Zionists. The little things like the best Pilots in the Israeli Air force are Messianic Jews and thruout their military. Never hear of stuff like this in the media.

Thank you and have  a good game day...

Re: Who's on your ignore list?

I would say Russia's version of Capitalism is far different than the one we practice here.

First, they haven't been practicing long. Meaning, they are still infant in how it all works.

Second, they evolved from communism to capitalism. Something we didn't do. If your a fan of Marx, it's supposed to work the other way around. Anyhow, when communism fell in Russia, it was lilke the wild west. KGB, government officials and the newly formed Russian mob comprised of KGB and former Russian officials took control of the economy. They still own a vast degree of the resources, most notably the oil you mention above.

Third. They don't outsource YET because they are still in capitalism infancy. Give them some time. Plus, what would they outsource? Labor is fairly inexpensive there as compared to the U.S, plus noone wants to stick any call centers in Russia. Not exactly known for their "customer service" skills. At this point, they have nothing to outsource because their economy + labor has not hit a point of maturity to do so.

Fourth. Yes, Russia does sell their military hardware all over the world. If you watch who they sell it to, it's a lot of their old cronies from the cold war era. Anyone is fair game. I would say similar things about the U.S., but Russia has proven somewhat irresponsible in this regard.

Lastly. You are somewhat nieve if you believe that the Russian economy is any less "corrupt" than the U.S. Like I said above, Russia is still controlled in large part by ex-KGBers + ex-politboro = mobsters. If you think they dont' control most of the wealth, do some research.

Re: Who's on your ignore list?

Russia does capitalism about as well as they did communism. Not well at all. Even under the soviets their economy was a joke compared to the west. Again, it is no secret that they plundered the now independent states they either held as "republics" or satellites to bolster their anemic society. If a soviet style system were to re-emerge there not a single satellite or republic would voluntarily rejoin.

The love of money is the root of all evil. And evil has been plotting for centuries to establish the conclusion that is now bearing its dark fruit. Your vote won't stop it.
