Love BB as a coach but some of his leadership decisions are suspect.  Why bring Ridley to Texas if he's a healthy scratch?  Why make a spectacle of him on national TV?  Why make him the topic of conversation unnecessarily?  Will it make him hold onto the ball any better?  Just like he did to Welker a few years ago.  1st rule of leadership:  Criticize in private, praise in public.  Love him as a coach but can't agree with some of his methods.

Have you ever actually heard BB single out and criticize one of his players in public? I only hear him say much of nothing or praise. Which is exactly what you want him to do.

    Don't understand your issue honestly.

What you seem to be having a problem with is how "YOU" are perceiving what "MIGHT" be going on. ...and if you are having a problem with how others might be perceiving Ridleys handling then I would simply ask you, why?

This isn't Ridley's first go around re: fumbling and protecting the ball. Since nothing has worked so far - what other alternatives would you suggest; beside a quick kick to da nuts?

Oil the ball, line up the defense, and have him run through the line ---- multiple times until he gets it.  If he wanted to travel, fine.  Leaving him home would have sent him a stronger message.  Letting him stay on the sideline so the cameramen could pan over him after every Pats run play is exessive imho.

You can't really do that. That's one of the problems with the new CBA. In addition to all the injuries caused by lack of padded practices, you can't work on stuff like that as much as you could before.

I think the deactives are usually on the sidelines, it just so happens the cameras caught him and they made a big deal out of it. This was a win win for everybody...we didn't fumble and Ridley got the chance to show the world how cool he looks in a hat when he turns the rim up, all gangstah style.

    Exactly, its that simple.

Um, healthy scratches travel with the team. Benching Rid is simply a logical decision given his play. He'll be back and probably more focused on not losing the ball.

nothing so far has worked. we are a better team with ridley as long as he holds on to the ball. the playoffs are getting close and he had to do something to help ridley concentrate more on ball security so why not.]
