    Why No Supberbowl for Patriots?

Well the proof is in the pudding as with the Patriots facing their second biggest test in 2 weeks and once again failing this time big time.

First off they don't get out of the AFC playoffs as won't be seeded higher than 4 and thus it means a wildcard game which they might win and then a road game at Indy which is a loss b/c they can't stop high powered passing attacks e.g 2 games played against Saints & Colts!

If they are seeded 3 and they win wildcard then they play at either San Diago or Cincy with the Chargers being a loss as they can pass and thus Pats can't stop passing teams but they do have a chance winning at Cincy as Cincy passing hasn't been the greatest.

So lets say the Pats win wilcard and get lucky and draw Cincy in divisional and win then they have to go to either Indy or Chargers which is a loss either way.

So my point is the only way the Pats get out of the AFC is if both the Colts & Chargers get upset by someonelese. And even if that happens and the Pats get to Superbowl they have to hope the Saints & Vikings get upset in NFC playoffs as both Brees & Favre will pick apart Pats D as we all know by know they can't stop passing teams. They might be able to beat the Cowboys, Cardinals, Eagles & Packers in Superbowl but not the top 2 seeds.

So the only hope for a Superbowl win is if the Pats lobby for other teams to please knock off the Colts, Chargers, Saints & Vikings, and for good measure the Cowboys.

Re: Why No Supberbowl for Patriots?

Well, truth be told, tonight is proving what some fans have long suspected.  We're simply not as good as the elite teams in the NFL.  Oh, we'll probably still win our division, but against Denver, Indy, and Nawlins, our weaknesses have been more exposed than they've been in divisional games.  We don't have a consistently threatening running game, Brady's been pressured alot, our D doesn't pressure other teams QB's, our pass and third down defense is not good, and our special teams aren't nothing to write home about.  Add it all up, and it's not pretty.  Jeez, on two third and about five's, they replayed from an angle in back of Brady - and three of our receivers ran routes that didn't even get to the first down marker.  I think we can probably win a playoff game but if tonight's performance, which mirrors our performance against the upper echelon teams we've played thus far, is any indication, we're about as good as we're gonna get - and that's not good enough for a deep playoff run.  What's really scary is that Brady, Moss, and a few others on offense and defense aren't getting any younger - perhaps our run is over, heck, it happens to all teams.  Gotta say this though:  it was one hell of a ride.

I've watched every game this season and in the Colts game they gave it away b/c they couldn't handle Manning in the second half as the only time they stopped him was when Manning decided to throw 2 ill advised int's and thus it was nothing the Pats did. They have picked up right where they left off in Indy tonight.

With regards to this season look at whom they have beaten? Bills barely, Titans team who no showed, Bucs who are garbage, Dolphins who have no passing game, Ravens who back to their enimic offense, Falcons who are barely alive for WC spot, Jets who have a rookie QB who is throwing ints left & right.

Look at the other 2 losses games given away to the Broncos & Jets in the second half. If they had not of given away the games to the Jets, Broncos, & Colts coming into tonight then we could give them a pass but not when the same thing happens again but this time they don't even have a chance to blow the game b/c they are so far behind.

Another thing to note is that in the 03 & 04 SB wins they always won big games in the regular season as the only big game they lost was the 04 game at Pittsburg on the road and they were long overdue for a loss at the time. But they only lost 4 games in those 2 years, the Bills 03 b/c the Lawyer Malloy situation, the Redskins 03 right before they hit their run and never lost again, and then in late 04 on MNF to the Dolphins in a game they gave away but they still wouldn't have had the #1 seed with a 15-1 record as the Steelers held the tie breaker but it didn't matter b/c the Pats went into Pitt and won the AFC title game.

I think this years team can only beat teams that are medicore as asking to beat the Colts, Saints etc is asking too much.

Are YOU watching THIS game?  My gosh, their offense is gaining at will against us, executing long scoring drives in less than 90 seconds, kinda' like what Manning did to us in the second half of that game.  Hey, I wanna believe, but the evidence is unavoidable - while we have an excellent offense that can score points, we can't stop good offenses - plain as day.

Re: Why No Supberbowl for Patriots?

Well John Gruden just hit the nail on the head as the Patriots should just attempt onside kicks so they don't have to kick to Brees b/c even if the Saints recover at the 50 it's no big deal b/c if they kick it deep the Saints will be past the 50 in 2 or 3 plays anyhow.

Now you all know why they had to go for it on 4 & 2 b/c the defense is bad!
