WHY THERE IS STILL CONCERN ON OFFENSE and on defense WHEN IT COMES TO THE PLAYOFFS - BEDARD 5 KEYS REDUX

More evidence that we must improve if we plan to beat the elite teams and go to the super bowl.

From bedard on bdc 5 keys to the kc game redux:

    "2. Stop the run

What we said: “...watch RB Dexter McCluster out of the backfield. He’s just waiting to bust out. Patriots need another good tackling game."

    Verdict: NO CHECK.

Chiefs running backs ran 25 times for 125 yards. They were running the ball fine - they got in trouble throwing the ball. I think the Chiefs tried a little too hard to keep the Patriots' honest with the pass.

    3. Pressure Palko

What we said: “...pass blocking has been bad the past two games. Expect the Chiefs to chip (hit with a passing running back, tight end or receiver) Patriots DE Andre Carter. That means whoever is at left end, be it Mark Anderson, Rob Ninkovich or Brandon Deaderick, should have a field day against RT Barry Richardson."

    Verdict: NO CHECK.

The Patriots only sent three blitzes -- two coming when the game was out of reach -- so the guys up front were on their own against an average line. Their nine total QB pressures tied a season low. A better QB would have gotten them, but it was find for this game. Mark Anderson got his against Richardson, Carter was able to be single blocked much of the game by Branden Albert.

    5. Bury them early

What we said: “The more they’re able to get off to a good start, the more it plays into the hands of the defense – as we saw the second half of last season."

    Verdict: NO CHECK..

The Patriots started slow again, but the Chiefs weren't talented enough to take advantage."

Bedard is not important to me in any way.  As far as I can tell, he doesn't, hasn't, and won't play football, coach football, or even know much about football.  Playoffs?  Are you kidding me?  Playoffs?  Playoffs?  Six games left before the end of the season.  Six to get ready, six to go.  It is the second season, we are doing good, and have met our worst nightmare for weeks now.  The "blueprint" has been thrown at us week after week.  We are improving and moving forward.
