    Wiggins and Johnson released

Pats need WR bodies in camp next week. Does this mean Dobson is on the field? Other WR's coming in?

Likely good news regarding Dobson.  2 open roster spots, huh?  DT and TE?  Looking forward to camp.

I still wouldn't mind Keller or Finley coming in if the Pats deem them healthy...of course, I have no idea how the team evaluated them so we will see.

Finley met with Packers team doctor today.  If things look good, expect him to sign with the Packers.  If things don't look good then I expect Finley will have a hard time finding a team.

Keller's camp has been so quiet I believe he has a deal in place somewhere! If you want to here the sound of crickets his camp is the winning camp.

I still feel he is coming here, maybe over this weekend...

That's two WRs released.  I'd say that Dobson is healthy and Boyce is healthy.  BB has no WR problems at this time and doesn't need any competition.

For the pessimists, Vince Wilfork and Kelly may turn out to have limited gas in the tank.

For the pragmatists, perhaps Wiggins and Johnson both messed up big.

    Re: Wiggins and Johnson released

    From ESPNBoston.com:

When the New England Patriots waived rookie receivers Jeremy Johnson and Reese Wiggins on Thursday, it left the club with just nine players at the position. That's a bit light for training camp and preseason games, which is why more additions were expected.

One of them will be Tyler McDonald, according to his agent.

The Patriots and McDonald, who played at South Carolina State, have been linked since May. At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, McDonald is a taller receiver who totaled 159 catches for 2,389 yards and 17 touchdowns over his college career.

Meanwhile, Maine receiver Derrick Johnson, who was with the team for a few weeks in May, will also be re-signed, according to a source. News of Johnson's return was first tweeted by Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

As Mike Lowe of the Portland Press Herald in Maine reported in June, Johnson was a candidate to return to the Patriots after he recovered from a sprained knee.

The Patriots are well-stocked at receiver, and if McDonald and Derrick Johnson ultimately stick with the team, the practice squad is the most likely spot.

With the additions of McDonald and Johnson, the Patriots will have 89 players on their 90-man roster.

There is good news, the Pats aren't spending stupid money on a position in which they don't have any real needs.

Ya, Hooman and Slater and Dobson and Amandola were awesome  against the Broncos.

    Thanks BB

Yeah, this WR and TE roster is deep with dependable and experienced players.  If Gronk goes out again, no worries with Hooman filling in, lmao.  Dobson has probably been improving all off season while in a boot and Lafell is already made a big splash by taking part in 1 OTA.  While it was good to hear Thompkins impressed again in OTA's, it has been reported he is still having ball issues.  Many still believe he is on the bubble and unless you forgot last season he was also out with injuries and was not a trusted WR towards the end of the season.  Same can be said with Amendola.  Edelman was very good last season and finally remained healthy all season, but if he goes down during this season it's big trouble for this passing game with all the other question marks.

It is nice to be optimistic, but apparently you aren't very realistic if you seriously believe your comment .  If you serious don't have any concerns at the WR position going into this season then you are even a bigger joke then you already make yourself out to be.
